i was taking half of a 50mg pill of synthroid becuase the 50 was making me feel to jittery, but the 25mg was a little low, so i have been taking 3/4 of a pill which seems just right but its a rediculous pain cutting the pill in half, then cutting half of the pill in half every morning to get the 3/4 pill dose!! Is there such a thing as a 35 mg pill or is it only come in 25 and 50??
oh and im off to the gyn to get my bloodwork for PCOS which i have been told i have but have yet to have the bloodwork done, just dianosed on MRI of cysts and from symptoms. What bloodwork will they run to test for it, just testosterone or other things too? I want to make sure my GYN gets all the right tests, some gyns don't seem to know that much about it. Thanks!! Hopefully the met will help me get some of this weight off finally!!
It doesn't look like synthroid has a 35 mcg dosage.
From the website, http://www.synthroid.com, it shows the following dosages:
25, 50, 75, 88, 100, 112, 125, 137, 150, 175, 200, 300 mcg
You might want to check with your doctor on what to do about your dosage. I know my aunt takes a certain dosage a few times a week and a higher dosage on Sundays. That might be easier than breaking up pills and at least her doctor knows what she is doing in case her levels change and he needs to make any adjustments.
You could take 1/2 of the 75mcg. That would give you a 37.5mcg dose, only 2.5 higher than 35mcg.

I wouldn't recommend splitting pills. There is no way to know if you have gotten the correct dose...some pills won't spilt evenly, others may crumble, small bits will be lost, etc etc. I've done it for various types of meds and it has never worked well.
You may want to ask about adding a T3 to your dose (like Cytomel). Your doctor should be able to help you adjust your dose, it will be a little tricky though since there's no in-betweens and you are at the low end of the dosing scale.
Good luck, let us know what happens!
