Points: 8,670.41 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 8,670.41 | Are These Results "Normal" After Laser Hair Removal? I went to my first laser hair removal this past Wednesday. I am doing the Lightsheer laser and I believe she said it was set to 35. I had both my chin and upper lip treated and yes it was a bit painful with some areas hurting worse than other areas. I was red for a little bit...like maybe an hour. But everyday since, I've been dealing with lots of acne on my chin. Its hard to cover and I'm frustrated because I didnt have this prior to having the laser done. Sometimes, when I used to pluck, I would get a blemish if I didnt get the hair to pull all the way out...but other than that nothing.
Are acne flareups normal after laser? I can see the dark hair in the center of the acne, so I'm thinking it must be related. How long does this last? When does the hair actually fall out? It really has shown no sign of doing so yet.
Thanks all!!

There are several there who are very knowledgeable about the different types of lasers and the side effects. http://cosmeticenhancementsforum.com...wforum.php?f=3 |

I normally get those bumps after my laser sessions too.It will be apparent for about 2-3 days and those bumps that look like acne are really where the hair has been zapped. Sounds like they used high settings so you should see good results. Just treat the areas lasered gently, stay out of the sun and moisturize your skin daily. |

Today is day 6 post treatment and my skin is finally clear again. YAY!! The hair is starting to fall out as well so I'm beginning to feel a lot better about this.
Josie: Thanks for the link!! I've spoken with a couple people from there who were a huge help!
jc and Fairy: How long have you been doing laser and how do you like your results thus far?

My neck swells up like a balloon, and the red acne like symptoms, but are really from the hair . Goodluck on your treatments

My Mood: Points: 863.43 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 863.43 | I think it is totally normal, I have had 3 laser treatments to my upper neck, chin, and lip. Each time I have these acne like red bumps that are IMPOSSIBLE to cover with make-up and they lasted about a week or 10 days. Hope that helps.

jc and Fairy: How long have you been doing laser and how do you like your results thus far? | I first got laser done a few years ago. After about 8 treatments, the hair was pretty much gone and only had to get touch ups, once a year. I gained weight so it's come back thicker so i am back at it and it's slowly getting finer again. I've tried a few different lasers out to try and save money and found the light sheer worked best for me for reducing hair and eliminating it.
before I started laser I wasn't able to wear my hair up because the growth was so noticeable that you could see a 5 o'clock shadow under my chin and you could see it even with make up! I wasn't able to wax my face- the follicles were pretty thick so I have had to resort to laser but it's really helped me feel less self conscious. |

Shayla: Thanks! I'm reallllly happy with the results so far!! The hair is growing MUCH slower, and its falling out already at 1 week post treatment. I'm happy this is working...plucking daily was ridiculous and time consuming!!
USAWife: Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm happy its finally gone, but it did last for like 5 days. It was frustrating to say the least.
jc: You are right...those bumps after laser are very hard to cover. I had to stay inside for like 4 days because it was just impossible to hide. I think I might invest in a little MAC makeup for next time.
