Default Thin Cycters TTC Part 5

Here is the new thread... and its a long start

Hi all!
Today is a good day... better than I have had in a long time! I sat down with my ObGyn last week and she went over everything in my file and she said she doesn't think I need to see an RE just yet. She said my HSG was normal, my insulin blood work was normal and that the follicular cysts on my right ovary are normal small cysts that are getting ready to release eggs, my last cycle was a regular (for me that is) 34 days with a positive OPK on CD 20. I didn't have any noticeable CM last cycle so I wasn't surprised when AF came on CD 35.

I was a little let down by our meeting, I wanted her to have a game plan laid out for me, but instead she patted me on the back and told me to keep up with the acupuncture and come back in 3 more cycles if I want to start Clomid, she said my age gave us time. When I talk about it with my husband we agree we really aren't ready for fertility drugs, but some days when I am alone with my thoughts, or with my pregnant friends, I am ready to try anything!! I looked at my calendar with my doctor of when we started "trying" it has only been 9 cycles (2 of which we didn't know what we were doing I was assuming I had a 28 day cycle and another 1 that we didn't try at all because we were dealing with the death of my sister's newborn) so really it has only been 6 real tries, when I thought we were close to 12!

Anyway, so I decided to take her advice and low and behold there was a very noticeable amount of EWCM when I used the restroom yesterday and my home OPK has started to get darker, my BB's are sore and it looks like I am going to ovulate within the next couple of days, we started Bding on Mon. In past months when there has been EWCM I have ovulated 5 days later, which is great since my DH is going out of town leaving next Monday! I truly 100% believe it is the acupuncture that is regulating my cycles. It is amazing the difference it has made in my life, with my sleep patterns, with my anxiety and with my crazy cycles! I am also hoping the HSG opened me up and that maybe this is our month. I don't want to jinx it by saying anything to any of my friends or family, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask you guys for some baby dust

Thanks in advance, I hope you are all doing well. Lots of positive energy coming out of The OC towards all of you today! Anyone who is considering alternative treatments, acupuncture is awesome!!!

Is it bad to BD every day for the next couple of days? I am so scared of missing the window... my DH's sperm analysis was normal...

Marking my spot and spreading baby dust. My husband came back with "donor quality" sperm ... whatever that means and my doctor told us it was fine for us (and he recommended) bding everyday if we wanted to. Good luck!

I should mention however, in this particular case of getting pregnant... we did not Bd everyday (probably 2 days before ovulation but I wasn't keeping close tabs... remember I was "trying" not to obsess) and in fact, I thought we lost our chance! You just never know!

Hello,

Christina, I read that you are doing acupuncture and you think that it is working. I have just started acupuncture this week because I haven't had a period since Jan. How long did it take you to get regular? And do you know if you can take Met while you do acupunture? I have a doctors appt. on May 31st and hope she will put me on it. Thanks in advace.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Have a good night.

Is that something new? If you get bigger then a certain amount of pages you have to start a new thread?

lucy- don't be too freaked out about s/e, I had bloating and increased anxiety but all of it was completely tolerable, like dahliad said, think of the end result, and it is only for 5 days, you only have the s/e, if you even have any, when you are taking the tablets. good luck. feel free to ask any questions and keep us updated!

thank you everyone for your well wishes.

Yes, it started about a month or two ago. Apparently it helps the board function faster and more smoothly if the threads don't get too long so Kat put a limit of 5 pages on them (not sure if its enforced, but we try to do the right thing!)

CaliGirl,

This is my second cycle on acupunture, I go 2 times a week. Last month I had a 34 day cycle and I am about to ovulate either today or tomorrow which means this cycle will be 33-34. My acupuncturist says to give her at least 3 months, but I saw a difference the first cycle. I started with her on CD 1, which I think helped.

The great thing about acupuncture you can do it with ANY other treatment you are doing. I guess it is really successful when paired with IVF. It is not a cure all, if you have structural issues like fallopian tube blockage or other issues it won't help with that, but regulating cycles and promoting healthy ovary functions it definitely works for. Plus it is so relaxing, I sleep better at night from the treatments. Good luck with your doctors appt!!!

Thank you everyone for all the baby dust!!

Hmnn, I'm not sure what happened, but I think the site ate a post of mine! It's not in the other thread where I put it.. oh well, maybe I hit the wrong button when I tried to post. Who knows.

I tried to update you all on my IUI. It was last Sunday, and it was a total breeze. My sexy doctor almost yelled at me when I asked if it would hurt- he thought I was a crazy person for thinking that getting a catheter crammed up my cervix would be painful. It turns out that he was right - I barely even felt it.

I'm now 4 days past my IUI, and I'm so bloated from the trigger shot that I look pregnant. I hope that belly is here to stay for awhile! However, my doctor told us that the chance of it working is only 1 in 6, because of my age. That's a pretty frighteningly low number!

I'm feeling sad today. I just finished a brutal semester of graduate school (almost - I still have to take 3 finals), and a bunch of my classmates are getting together to gorge on pizza and beer tonight. I want to go so badly that I could cry, but it would be pure torture to be around all that pizza and beer and not be able to have any of either.

Hi Girls...

Just a quickie to get in on ttc5.

Had HSG this am... worst pain! One tube partially blocked. Rest okay. She said it was so painful because they were trying to dislodge the blockage. UGH. Still crampy.

Started clomid challenge test last night. 100mg for days 5-9.

Did anyone feel incredibly tired with clomid?? I almost fell asleep at work three times!!!!

Well, off to sleep.
AMF - Congrats on the healthy babies!!!!!!

Well wishes to everyone else!
Night!
