I'm new to this site and love it already. I have been struggling with PCOS for a long time and have a couple questions regarding getting diagnosed and if Metformin is dangerous for a thin cys as some of the posts would imply. A have many symptoms. My periods are 4 months apart, hair on neck, acne, huge potbelly...the list goes on. It seems GYN's aren't helpful with PCOS diagnosis. Is it best to go to an endo doctor? Also, I am fairly thin, except for mid-section and thighs, and some of the posts imply that metformin is dangerous for petite or thin people. One post says it actually swells the cysts. Are there any thins cysters who can advise? Thanks-Stef

I actually don't know much about metformin, my OBGYN and RE say that for me it is not needed. I do advise that you see an endo. If you are trying to get pregnant see an RE. I promise...my OBGYn literally said she didn't know what to do with me since I have PCOS and am thin. My RE gave me almost all the answers I needed after just one visit!
