Thanks guys. I was not on metformin, just very vigilant about eating a low sugar diet (and taking cinnamon).
Unfortunately it turns out it was a chemical pregnancy. They're very common and my progesterone levels were great, so there's no reason to be concerned - and somehow I suspected all along that things weren't right (I had strange cramps, my boobs were getting less sore, something just felt wrong), so I wasn't surprised at all when I started bleeding.
At least I know it's possible for me to get pregnant, right?
