Default Thin cyster on Avandia-update

Hi ladies, just wanted to share my experiences again as I progress using the Avandia. I still have no s/e. I got AF ON MY OWN on day 31. A huge accomplishment for me not to need additional meds. My skin and attack of unwanted hair I so dreaded has not become a problem. My skin is still fairly clear and the hair has not reappeared. I'll continue to watch though. I did not ovulate this month but am pleased as punch to have gotten AF. This never happens on it own! I'll report again next month.

Just curious if you've been tested for IR, and if so, are you IR or not? I'm a thin supposedly non IR cyster, and did metformin for about 2 months before eventually conceiving while taking met and gonal F injectables. Not sure if met alone would have done anything, but after one month on it before doing injectables I hadn't gotten AF on my own or O'd. If I had stayed on longer, maybe I would have...who knows.

Just wondering for next time around I'm 30 1/2 weeks pregnant with this little one and stayed on met through the first trimester to help reduce the m/c rate.

Congratulations!

I don't think I am considered IR since my sugar is 85 and insulin was around 9. The charts say over 10 to even be borderline but since I am thin and the charts were created with diabetic patients in mind I'm not sure if the numbers are comparable. I've understood that they believe all women with PCOS to be impaired in how their body reacts to insulin so I decided to give the Avandia a shot. My RE didn't want me to take the Gluc. she said the Avandia would work if Gluc. was going to. She doesn't like the s/e of gluc. and I am not trying to conceive. She does use gluc. with those trying to get pregnant though.

I was really shocked when I got my period the first month. I had just come off birth control pills and my hormones were pretty subdued so maybe that is why it kicked in right away. I don't believe I O'd last month but am charting this month to see and I will let you know. I feel really great on this drug and am hoping my liver testing comes back normal so I can stay on it and see what happensl

Best of Luck to you in the next few weeks!
Chris
