Default Thin cyster, but no cycle

I'm a fairly thin cyster at 5'3 and 112 lbs. Before PCOS I weighed less, and I can tell that my metabolism is not what it once was and I have the potential to gain weight, but I eat a very controlled diet and am able to keep my weight about where it is. I cut out simple carbs and pretty much all grains and I eat high protein and veggies. I take vinegar supplements to keep my blood sugar balanced.
While these things help my weight and how I feel, I haven't had a period in the longest time. I'm 17 and would love kids so I am getting upset and can see down the road not being able to conceive. It seems that alot of women with PCOS just eat a healthy diet and get to a normal weight and their cycles normalize- this is not the case with me. My mom has PCOS, but her symptoms are very different. She is overweight, but she has a regular cycle now. She has never completely lost her period. Did any of you thin cysters not have a cycle at one time, but eventually conceived naturally?

I honestly don't remember how my cycle was in high school, but I know it was very irregular and I definitely didn't get it every month. I really didn't pay any attention to it at the time (actually considered myself lucky! Can you imagine?!) I assumed it was because I was thin and athletic and had heard that it was "normal" for teens to have irregular cycles... probably not true. I really only started to pay attention when i tried to conceive and initially I only got it about 4 times a year. I got diagnosed and went on Metformin (which is not considered a fertility med) and ate better and exercised more and it has made it possible for me to conceive three times now. Every woman is different, but don't lose hope at 17!

congrats TrishainAZ on baby number #3

chocolatedaisy- I used to be a thin cyster at 5'2 120 lbs. But since i've been married i've gained about 15 lbs. Marriage can do it to you. Oooh and i have terrible acne. Do you breakout also? Anyways, my cycles always been crazy. I was on bc for a year and a half and it came like clockwork. But now that i'm ttc, its all off again. My GYN prescribed provera so that i can get my period. Like trishainAZ, i used to think i was lucky not getting my period, but now i know that could lead to other complications. anyway some of the options you do have to get it going is exercise, bcp, or provera. I've been ttc naturally, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. but i know other women have said that they were able to conceive naturally. everyone's different though. hope this helps! good luck.
