Default Thin cyster has unusual bouts with weight changes...

Howdy all,

Sometimes I think I'm blind...I never realized there was a board for thin cysters!

I'm 5'7", 120lbs (BMI: 18.8).

Now here's my question. My weight can fluctuate by as much as 10 pounds in either direction without warning even if I perfectly maintain a strict eating and exercise regime. The weight is centered directly on my stomach. I mention it to my doctors, and they say it's normal for PCOS gals, yet they're referring to those who are overweight.

*I* don't think it's normal, and it's a big deal to someone who's thin to have weight changes that comprise 8% of their normal total weight!

Do any of you have this problem?

And as for my other symptoms/info: facial hair, AF hasn't visited in 2.5 years, elevated testosterone, enlarged ovaries; not TTC, not married.

Yes this is me! I enver know when it will happen. Although I gained tons during pregnancy. I have periods of time that can last 6 months to a year that I gain and don't lose no matter what. I am only talking about 10-12 pounds here but it reaks havoc on the wardrobe. I have recently started avandia and have lost all the extra weight I was carrying as of late. I feel great and the middle bloat and weight has gone way down. Who knows!

I range from 125 to 135 throughout the course of a year. My high points are in the winter and my lows in the summer. I buy clothes in two sizes because I just never know. I was terrified when pregnant that I would gain and never loose it, but as soon as I stopped breastfeeding, the weight went right back to the way it was before. I tend to gain in the thigh/hip area. Not pcos like at all.
