Default Thin Cyster with Hypoglycemia and Insulin Resistance

Is there anyone out there who is hypoglycemic, insulin resistant, and a thin cyster? Just wondered what medications you've had success on and what the dosage was.

I am on 1000 mg Metformin XR for one month and then my RE is going to check my levels and add Clomid if needed. I am also on a very strick low carb, no sugar diet so I am hopeful that Metformin may be all I need to get pregnant if I can control my diet/exercise.

Thank you for your response!

Hi,
I am a thin cyster. I have always been in fainting or pre-fainting condition and i do believe that i am hypoglycemic. When i am eating food some kind of pressure is taken off of me, which after a few minutes come back. I have yet to meet a doc who would agree with me to test me properly. Being thin is the problem!!!! What are your symptoms?

Hey!

I am a thin cyster, 5 foot 3 fluctuating between 100-108 pounds (101 now) and have had hypoglycemia (reactive) and insulin resistance since I was 18. I am currently pre-diabetic, high testosterone, 1.7 to 1 Lh/Fsh ratio. I am controlling mine with diet, exercise, and ortho tri-cyclen lo BCP (I know that doesn't help since you are trying to get pregnant!). If my sugars do not respond to the diet and exercise then it will be Metformin ER 500 or 1,000. You can go up to 1500 or 2000 which is the "normal" acceptable does for PCOS.

Good Luck!

I know you posted back in 08 but I was somewhat relieved to see I wasn't the only one with hypoglycemia . Has metformin helped you with your hypo?

Hopingandpraying-to answer your question, so far Met 1000 has not caused me to O on my own. I have not gotten AF on my own either. But, just took provera, got my period, and now will go in for my CD 3 scan tomorrow before starting Clomid on CD 5-9 with trigger shot. Keep you posted on how things go. I am crossing my fingers and praying in works the first round! Best of luck to you in your journey!
