Default Thin Cyster and Insulin Resistant!

If overweight cysters can have some lifestyle changes and lose weight to reverse their insulin resistance, what can we thin cysters do naturally? Other than medicate, that is!

And a couple more questions... I only found out three days ago, so I'm new to this.

Can insulin resistance be reversed for thin cysters with JUST metformin and a general decrease in simple carbs? How long do I have to be on metformin to become insulin sensitive? Anyone here on the same boat?

Thanks, Cysters!

I am in the same boat, sort of! I was diagnosed with PCOS and IR in May 2006. My ob gyn put me on 1500mg of metformin. Just some background, I had normal AF until I was 36. For a year, I received AF every two weeks then every 10 weeks. Once I went on the Metformin, I haven't received AF at all!

My glucose level has decreased from 94 to 82. So the Metformin is working. I am a thin and have a great diet. I could exercise more. I would love to know what I can do to help my situation. My endo said that usually he recommends weight loss but in my case, he said to reduce the carbs!

I was hypothyroid and was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in November 2006. I had the right side of my thyroid removed. My endo and ob gyn said that it may be complicating things!

I just don't understand why I was normal my whole life and now this is all happening to me! Oh, well....
