| Thin Cyster Symptoms? Hello sisters,
Just wondering: as a thin cyster, how many of you have typical PCOS symptoms, like hirsuitism, acne, thinning hair, skin tags, etc?
I have ZERO symptoms besides the ovulation issues, and the cystic ovaries.
And what treatments seem to have helped you? if you really don't have much symptoms going on, do things like met help you?
Thanks for any info!

| I'm new to the website and recently diagnosed -- I really appreciate the information available here!
As for symptoms: I have irregular AF, PCO, very fine hair on my face, and my hair is thinning, but no acne, skin tags, etc.

My Mood: | I do not ovulate and I have poly-cystic ovaries. I have IR. I have had the bad acne for years but it's finally controlled thanks to a new skin regime. I have had thinning hair for years and that got bad, I started a program for that last August and it has helped my hair fall and thinning tremendously...still working on it though. Lets see....I have a few stray hairs on my chin and upper lip but that is about it for me. Not too bad I guess. Some have it A LOT worse!!!!

My Mood: | Colleen -- I answered your poll but thought I'd chime in here, too, since I think I'm a lot like you. I really don't have any typical PCO symptoms -- no real acne (an occasional zit every couple of months), no hirsutism, no hair thinning issues. Just very cystic ovaries (like 20-30 small ones per ovary, usually), and no ovulation on my own. I tried Met but couldn't get up to a full dose due to extreme fatigue/diziness (I got stuck at 1000 mg). That dose certainly didn't do anything for me that I could notice. But I still think everyone should try it in the chance that it COULD work for you.

| Until recently I did not have the typical PCOS symptoms, except for the fact that I have never ovulated on my own and I have cysts on my ovaries. Since the end of February I have had a bloated stomach that makes me look a few months pregnant, acne, BCP not working anymore, no cycle, mood swings, no sex drive, and IBS (or some kind of GI).
I am in the process of trying to figure out what the next step is...so frustratiing! |

| I am new here too. I have PCOS but no outward s/s other than poor ovulation, poly cystic ovaries on u/s and LH/FSH ratio of almost 3:1 and of course infertility. I do not have IR or weight issues, perhaps a stray hair and the occasionally facial blemish. My RE always shakes his head in wonderment that I have classic poly cystic ovaries but no outward signs. My AF is hit or miss, it will be regular for a while and then a month or two of no show. I have never stressed out about it much until I started on fertility meds and now i need it to show up on time and of course it doesn't. Go figure. |

| wow, I'm so glad to hear from some of you, that have polycystic ovaries but no other significant symptoms - you start to feel like a bit of a freak when you don't have anything but the cystic ovaries and the amenorrhea...
keep it up! I'd love to hear from all of you!

| I have thinning hair and some stray hairs here and there. Other than that, I look pretty normal-- no acne, no skin tags, no weight issues.
Although, I did have a doctor say- and I quote- "I'm surprised you don't have a beard with those hormone levels."

My Mood: | It seems like a lot of thin cysters don't have many of the "normal" PCOS symptoms... or at least have them more mildly. I don't really have any symptoms either besides no ovulation/AF, very cystic ovaries (there were TONS on the u/s), and few hairs on my chin I'd rather not have- very minor. My dr. did say i'm very lucky that i don't have acne given my hormone levels.

| I was thin before pregnancy. I have always had excess hair and depression and anxiety. I also had severe acne growing up. I have a mild form of HS which is associated with PCOS. I cycles are very irregular and I had difficulty conceiving.
The weight and thinning hair have thankfully stayed away, but I have several family member with these symptoms. My DH swears my hair is thinning, but I just shed a lot. I don't have any more scalp showing now than I did 10 or 15 years ago. (He's bald and his sister is a blonde, so he doesn't understand the long black hairs everywhere). I don't know if I'm IR becuase my doctor didn't test. He said that the test could be unreliable. I've made myself familiar with the glycemic index and IR eating, so I adjust my diet if I start having blood sugar issues. I don't have polycystic ovaries that have been detected by u/s.

| i am not overweight, i never had acne just the occasional spot on my chin, a couple of black hairs at the side of my face which i tweeze off and take a while to grow back, and i also get a period every 5 weeks...but the little cysts are there although when i was on the pill they diminished..its soo confusing to be so different. maybe this is a mild case? is there even a mild case of pcos? dunno!! |

| I have PCO, acne (I'd more call it "bad skin" b/c it's just super reactive to everything I do wrong to it), and some patches of errant dark hairs (I'm blonde otherwise). I have always been thin (now I'm probably just normal), my b/w doesn't show any abnormalities, and I O, but it happens irregularly (5-7 week cycles).
The whole thing is kooky ... and sometimes very frustrating.

My Mood: | I was told for quite awhile that there was no way I had PCOS because I wasn't the "cookie cutter" PCOS patient.
Other than no AF or O::I am naturally dark headed & have darker body hair. I have hair on my upper lip that suddenly doesn't like bleach LOL I also have a bit of acne but on my chest & back-odd!!!

| When I graduated hs 8 years ago, I was 98lbs. I'm now 140. I started gaining just before I had my first dx around 21 (was dx'd @ 24). Now that my symptoms are becoming more "classic", I've managed to put on 20lbs without effort. The past 6 mos or so, my cheeks have seen more hair. I've always been hairier than my friends on the legs and arms. I have low blood sugar moments, and have for years. I get dizzy and nauseated without food very easily, and DH keeps a granola bar in his pocket, just in case lol! My hair used to be a four inch pony and is now about 1/2 an inch... I miss it! That, and the undiganosed depression and the no periods/no ovulation... well.. ok, maybe aside from the not being "obese"... I'm a "classic" cystor! lol
I am very angry that I wasn't dx'd earlier in life... I've had enough symptoms over the years that they should have put it together!

| I'm not overweight but I do carry weight around my tummy. I've had crazy-bad acne since I was 12. My periods are irregular, I get hair on my stomach where guys normally have a "happy trail" and I get depressed for no reason quite often.
