Default Thin cysters benefit from diet as well??

Hi cysters,

I'm a bit confused. Because I'm a thin cyster (54 kilo, 170 cm) with no insuline problems I hardly ever read the diet and exercise-posts. Now I just read an article on how the right food and exercise can help you with excess hairs , skinproblems and hairloss. Is this true or just crap to make you feel guilty?
I mean, it's hormones, right. Can I really improve my hormone balance significantly by eating more biological vegetables or go to the gym? Sorry, but I don't buy this. I once lost 20 pounds by eating only vegetables and fitnessing 8 hours a week. Never noticed any change in my pcos symptoms, though.

Cheers,

Charlie

Well, with all the information about the connections betwen insulin levels and hormones, I think it would defintely help if there are any insulin problems. It would need to be a low carb diet though from what I've read, so I'm not sure if vegetables would affect insulin levels or not. I don't know if it would help if you don't have insulin problems, but being in shape and eating healthily has never hurt anyone to my knowledge, so it's worth a try!

Diet definately helped me. I don't mean diet to lose weight, but proper diet. I started following the Zone principles. They basically want you to have some protein at every meal and snack. There is alot of info online. It's also called the 30-30-40 plan

I started feeling much better once I followed the basic principles. (by no means did I do exact). I also started herbs, and now, after years of trying, and 6 docs saying it would never happen, I'm pg!!

Give it a try and see how you feel! I am not IR, but I definately noticed a difference in blood sugar levels.
