Question Thin cysters with kids...

What were your pregnancies like? I have 2 kids & both were great. I did have PROM with my first, but I felt good during the pregnancy. I had weightloss in the beginning with both & gained a normal 25lbs. Didn't have any water retention or swelling. After the births, I weighed less than my pre-pregnancy weight. I was wondering if my experiences were similar to other thin cysters?

My first pregnancy was great, I had NO morning sickness, just a little sensitivity to some smells, and I gained a lot (40lbs) but I had a big baby and was underweight to begin with, and I had no trouble getting it all back off quickly. No water retention or swelling either. The only thing that was worrisome, but turned out to be nothing, was that I had a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. But my cervix was always closed and long, and I went over my due date. HTH.

I gained around 35lbs, but I started at 108lbs. My pregnancy was textbook & I was running and walking until 33 weeks when I started dialating. I had tons of BHCx too. I did swell right at the end, but it was August and HOT. I went into labor at 37 weeks. I had a quick and easy labor. And thankfully a perfectly healthy boy weighing 7lbs 7oz. Not bad for 37 weeks! I was back in my pre-pregnancy cloths in 2 to 3 weeks.

I too had a very easy pregancy. gained 42 lbs though, and still have 10 left (and DS is 9 months tomorrow) However I am claiming that lifting a baby day in day out made me gain 10lbs of muscles I didn't have before ;-)
I think how easy you get rid of the weight depends on your level of IR and BFing and how soon you go back on BCP, or any other meds.
Sounds like so far all of us had a pretty similar experience though.

I had a textbook, relatively easy pg with average weight gain, although I did do a lot of exercise. I had PROM too, lots of BHs and all-day nausea in 1st Tri. I had some oedema, but I get that anyway in hot weather and I only had it in the summer.

i got HUGE....but that was due to being underweight to begin with and i was on insulin. i was 135 pre-pregnancy, and ended up at 192 on the delivery day. i was an avid runner and worked out a lot before the pregnancy. during the pregnancy i power walked almost everyday. no morning sickness. only symptoms i had were mild nausea, some food cravings and aversions, and some swelling, (minor) at the last month. some mild heartburn too. otherwise, it was a breeze.

Thanks for the replies ladies! It seems that we stayed "thin" after giving birth. I don't know if that's due to high metabolism or what. I know breastfeeding helped me lose weight pretty quickly. Anyone gain more weight after pregnancy? Congratulations to all of you who were able to experience motherhood!

Default any thin cysters with hypothyroid?

I have a 6 year old daughter. Was diagnosed with pcos 5 years ago while trying to get preg. Did fertility treatments during 2003-2004 and was diagnosed with having an underactive thyroid after completing treatments (unsuccessful on clomid). Wasn't considered "typical" of hypothyriodism because I never developed weigh problems. Anyone else have pcos and thyroid issues?
