hey all...
i was just put on 1500 of metformin and this month will be taking 150mg clomid..i was just wondering if any of u all are taking the same combo...and what is has or hasnt done for u. anyone have success or close to it? any symptoms etc..im just interested in anyones 2 cents on the subject in general

Hey there. I am taking metformin and clomid together...different doses (500 mg of met and 100 mg of clomid) (im not insulin resistant) This is round 5 (waiting to see if I ovulated this cycle) but I have ovulated the 3 previous cycles on this dosage. Still hoping for a bfp.

oh great..so it has worked for u..im not IR either..but i just havent been able to O...so im hoping this combo does the trick..have u tried clomid without met.did u O?

I was on 2,000 mg of met + 50 mg of Clomid when I conceived my son. Also was being monitored by my RE w/ monthly ultrasounds and received an HCG trigger shot to time ovulation. Our third cycle of this protocol was the lucky one.
I didn't have any s/e (w/ either Clomid or Met) and produced 2 mature follies each cycle of Clomid. . .so it definitely worked well for me. I'm not IR either.

oh ok...how many cycles of clomid/met did u do before ur bfp?

I am writing at a very frustrated time in my PCOS! I have been on 1000mg Met since July 2005 and have stayed IR and not Oing. I fluctuate with periods, AF will come in stong and the next month just leave a spot! My DH is just as frustrated as I am. The only thing the Met has done is lower my testosterone, which my endocrinologist says- "it is doing its main job"! However, I get disappointed when I see what Met has done for other cysters TTC and it has done very little for me. My gyno invites the suggestion of getting on Clomid, but my pride is getting in the way b/c I would like to conceive being on as little meds as possible. I guess I am still shocked that I would ever have to be on meds to get preg. and don't want to add another medication that just might let me down in the long run!

Hello ladies. I am new to Clomid and I am just trying to gain as much insight about it as possible.
I was diagnosed in 12/04 with PCOS and have been on Met since 1/05. I started at 1500mg but I am now on 1700mg for the past 6 months. AF comes every month and I do ovulate. I had a painful HSG done in early December, and found out that I had at least one clear tube. My bowel was obstructing the view of my right one so they couldn't get a clear picture. Plus my uterus is tilted slightly so the fun begins. I will take Clomid from CD 5-9 and BD 19, 21, and 23 to go and have my bloodwork done on the 27th of this month to check P4 levels. I am hoping that I won't have to go too many rounds of this combo and get that BFP before Valentine's Day.

well i went on met for 3 months prior and it did absoulty nothing for me..i was on 1000mg..and my testosterone was through the roof..but my dr said to try it again cuz the clomid met combo works quite well for most..so im trying it..but it is frusterating i know..but u get to a point where u dont want to waste time hoping for things to work out when u might be a few pills away from a baby...just my outlook though i know its alot tougher than that!

tiara..i wanted to ask u..if u ovulate on ur own..what will the clomid do for u? i heard that if ur ovulating..clomid is actually not so great cuz it makes cm thinner...i dunno im not too sure, but im interested in what the outcome for u will be

I am not sure what the purpose would be. I guess my doc wants to see about my follies. Doesn't clomid help with follie producing as well? Or is it for ovulation alone? I ovulate with the help of Met.

hmmm i dunno.. ya it does help grow follies..but then follies only release if they are big enough i think..and if u ovulate then they must be the right size? i have no idea..but intresting.. well in any case hope it works for ya! did u concieve #1 on met alone?
