I also pop cranberry pills when I feel one coming on. And one last thing: recently I've taken tylenol to calm the inflammation and that makes it easier to handle while it's healing. Good luck!
Update on me:
I went to my 2nd opinion appt on Tuesday and was a little blown away. This RE had very different things to say, which I wasn't expecting.
+ I need to have new b/w -- chlamydia exposure (for possible endo dx) and PCOS panel (can you believe I hadn't had this done before??)
+ I should go on met if the b/w comes back IR (other Dr thought Met was useless b/c I don't need to lose weight)
+ he persuaded me to cancel my lap next week and try a saline sonogram instead (for more possible endo dx)
Overall it was good. I don't have the same easy rapport with this new one that I have with the old one, but he does seem to want to treat my PCOS, and that's a pretty big deal. He seemed careful not to criticize my current Dr, but did go so far as to say that he thinks I'm being "under-treated".
Interesting ...

Glad to hear that you are getting some answers and that you have found a doctor that acutally wants to treat you. sometimes with some of the doctors I have encountered I wonder why they choose to practice medicine.

I am sooo hungry! We're way overdue to go grocery shopping. My dinner choices are frozen salmon, whole wheat pancakes, or homemade vegetable soup (that has yet to be made). And I don't like salmon; I buy it for DH. I could wait until DH calls me on his way home in a couple hours and force him to drive 15 minutes out of his way to hit a drive thru.

It's like I just feel like it is going to work but I know that I am possibly setting myself up for a big disappointment. I never dreamed in a million years that I would miscarry my baby at 12 weeks and I just felt like I was going to carry her to term.

A nurse happened to notice and came over to apologize to me and told me my receipt would come in the mail. Next thing you know I'm walking back to the elevator and crying. Why might you ask? Who knows!
Thank god it's Friday.

Points: 11,479.14 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,479.14 | Ahoff- I honestly think with the erractic temps, random CM and PCOS that our bodies gear up to O and then can’t release a mature egg. Lucyladybug- I hope your IVF consult goes well. Shellbell- congrats one the Beta. Oh, the 1st ultrasound will be amazing, I’m sure. Laura- Yeap, the uristat works very well. Cranberry juice, Vitamin C only works in the very beginning stages of a UTI. I’ve only ever had one full blown UTI and OMG., I ended up in the emergency room after being unable to urinate for over 24 hours. They had to catherize me to drain the urine. Treat it early. Doolin- which doc was this? It does sound like he is being thorough and that’s great! Just curious, what doe endo have to do with chlamydia? Deb – Yeah, for starting clomid! Rose 28- I feel you on the somewhat random cry. I think there are so much emotions bottled up in us that random things can trigger an out pour. Heartcore- how are you feeling?
Hello to all the ladies I missed.
I’ve given up on O’ing naturally this cycle. I’m hoping to start provera next week. I need AF to come so I can get my second HSG since my doc wasn’t so sure about one of my tubes. I just want some answers and to start my next steps.

I've been moody & sad this cycle of comid. I feel better today & can see clearer how crazy I was acting.

I honestly prefer the vibe and overall feel of cornell, but it's undeniable that Dr Keltz is the one who is focusing in on what the underlying causes of my IF are, instead of running me through Clomid cycle and Clomid cycle..
About the chlamydia test: I think there's some evidence that indicates that women who have been exposed to chlamydia have higher rates of endometriosis than those that haven't. I'm not sure if they've figured out the mechanism of this connection, though..
Sorry about this anovulatory cycle. That just sucks.

My RE wants me to come in one more time for an u/s to make sure nothing is happening in there, so I'll go in Monday morning and then assume I will start progesterone Monday night to bring on AF. I'm just ready to be done with this stupid cycle already. I assume AF will be really light since I didn't build up much of a lining with an anovulatory cycle.

I called and got on the waiting list for a Saturday appt. at the clinic on post after the night I had last night. The urgent feeling that I had to pee, plus the pain in my lower abdomen, plus that weird "crawly" sensation kept me awake all night. Yet another perk of being a woman!

Points: 11,479.14 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,479.14 | amieb - i haven't done clomid so i'm not familiar with clomid mood swings, but i once had a progesterone shot and was evil and moody. once it passed, i could only look back and laugh at my insane behavior. but i had no control over it. doolin- well, let us know what happens. i hope that it is all clear. and yes, anovulatory cycles do suck. i usually ovulate every other month or so, but every once in awhile I don't ovulate at all, and it makes me think my hormones are a bit more off. but i'm feeling so slight cramping and my breasts are a touch tender so maybe i did O. my temps are not high, but they are higher than the last few days so i'll see if they continue to rose this wknd. if not, then i'll take provera.
my mom is convinced i'll get preggo this year b/c it is a leap year. i'm all for it. LOL! So let's all hope for BFP's in the leap year. |
