relka - sorry just had to chime in, i got my BFP the month after my DH and I got back from Aruba and I heard the same crap. "See! All you needed to was to take a break and relax, and look you got pregnant!" It's like..um no. Jabbing needles in my belly daily got me pregnant but thanks.

Points: 1,769.30 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,769.30 | OOh Relka - I am SO annoyed at that therapist! I am so tired of people making comments like that when they really have no idea!! Whether it is a medical professional (and why does anyone in any area of health care think they are qualified to give you advice? Like, hello - being a nurse does not mean you know how I could get pregnant) or just a woman who got pregnant once when she put her feet up in the air after sex......I am tired of terrible (admittedly, well meaning though) advice. If it was as easy as:
-putting our feet in the air
-taking bubble baths and thinking about puppies and rainbows to relax
-taking a week off
etc, etc WE WOULD ALL ALREADY BE PREGNANT!!!
Whew - sorry for the vent. As you may be able to tell, I have had a few people tell me to "relax" and "stop thinking about it and it will just happen".

I'm thinking after I am able to deal with my own crap, I would like to start seeing clients struggling with IF and maybe start some groups.
Refrain-Nice to see you!!!!
Laura-this is my favorite "taking bubble baths and thinking about puppies and rainbows to relax". I was LOL. How about the one you hear, "Well, if it was meant to be, it'll happen."
Hi to everyone else. My short-term memory is terrible but I know some were just talking about temping. I had to stop doing it. It was driving me insane. I admire you ladies that can do it.

Points: 2,945.83 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,945.83 | Ooooh Deb! I’m no charting expert, but yours is sure looking good to me!! About the IF comments from people – urgh. I have gotten the “if it is meant to be…” comment a couple of times already. Do people think that a woman will ever feel good hearing that maybe she’s not meant to have kids?!?! Relka - the comments your DH’s therapist made would have totally got under my skin too… some people are obviously missing a certain sensitivity that should be required to deal with IF issues.
About temping... I'm only 6 days in, and I already hate it!! I think I will continue for this cycle, but then might quit. I'm having trouble sleeping in the morning, so by the time I take my temp, I've already been tossing and turning for a while. And, the beeping of the digitial thermometer wakes up my DB (he's a really light sleeper). I'm using the OV watch, and my doctor is checking for O's with blood tests, so I don't know how much value charting is adding.

My Mood: Points: 1,259.15 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,259.15 | Relka - I am never ceased to be amazed at how insenstive people can be. Just this AM, as I was having, oh 8 viles of blood taken by the phlebotomist, she asked if I was trying for a baby. I said yes, and of course she said things happen when you don't try. She pretty much suggested I take a vacation too! Of course I didn't want to be rude and say "well, if I ovulated that would be a plan but I need medical intervention." She did say I was seeing the right Dr. for help, so who knows.
My consult with the other Dr. is next week. When I popped by his office to drop off my medical records, the nurse said that they have sucess with patients who even had prior unsuccessful IVF cycles. She said "everyone now a days is doing IVF." I can see where she's coming from, and when I first started seeing an RE, my first one said he did stress that IVF would have the highest success for me, given my age, etc. I liked my current RE, since she was fine with starting with stim meds only, but after the first round (no slow and low for me) being hyperstim, and the second one going the same way, switching to IVF made the most sense, not only for my comfort level (hoping I would not have to go through multiple rounds, but two down and ? to go so not quite what I thought) but also decreases the chance of high order multiples. My ovaries start off slow, but they catch up with a bang!

My Mood: Points: 5,111.32 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 5,111.32 | Relka, Ooooo, that IS super annoying!!! That's like telling someone who is paralyzed that they need to just relax, and then they'll be able to walk. No one would be that insensitive. I suppose that's decent advice for women who have absolutely nothing wrong with them, it's just taking them a while to conceive, but not for us.
Nothing much going on here. I woke up with an itchy lady problem. It's like that Vagisil commercial, where the girl is wearing the pink suit, but when she sees her reflection, she has straggly hair and is wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, due to her itchy vagina. That makes me laugh. Apparently yeast infections will turn you into the Unabomber.

My Mood: Points: 21,629.34 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 21,629.34 | Relka -- I"m so sorry you're feeling down. You should definitely see someone who specializes in IF. What annoys me the most about the therapist you saw is that he shouldn't be giving you advice on TTC, he should be helping you handle the emotional aspect of IF! That's just not the job of the therapist! Ugh. I would be so mad. (((((hugs!)))))
I've actually gotten to the point of replying to those "helpful suggestions" with, "well, I don't ovulate, so those techniques won't work for me." Shuts em up really fast.
Deb -- wow! That looks so promising! I really hope you O'd.
TXan -- I really hope the new dr gives you some insight. Maybe he'll do the low and slow on you? Are you interested in trying injects again without IVF?
I'm freaking myself out today. I've had very mild right-sided pain for the last 2 days, and of course I'm even more worried about an ectopic. Theoretically my beta is only about 300 today, and DH (a dr) thinks that isn't high enough to have symptoms from an ectopic. I'm hoping maybe it's a cyst or something but I'm pretty worried.

Relka- You should definitely find a different therapist. What an insensitive and ignorant comment to make to someone who has been ttc for so long and has actually been diagnosed with an IF condition! I seriously think I will just completely lose it if one more person tells me to "just relax."
Laura32- I love the paralyzed person analogy! I'm going to use that next time someone makes an annoying comment to me about how to get pregnant.
Deb- Crossing my fingers that you o'd
Tummy- I really hope everything is okay. I'd be worrying myself silly. Maybe it's just one of those weird early pregnancy symptoms.
