Before met, I had a pretty flat tummy but now i look down and it seems bloated around my belly button, which i REALLY hate. but I haven't gained any weight so it's not that. anyone else had that happen?

My Mood: Points: 3,403.91 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,403.91 | Hey guys! Lots of posts today, so I know I'm forgetting some comments I wanted to make...
Doolin - definitely agree with gut feel and Drs. I do think the protocol will be important and should hopefully be adjusted to how you respond. Since I really don't make any amounts of FSH and LH, no need to suppress me, but it makes sense that if you don't suppress you can go with lower doses of gonadatrophins for you "regular" folks. I now know I also have a lining problem, so it sounds like supression is also not good in those cases.
Of course I was liking my previous Dr., but I now realize that she was not thinking of adjusting the protocol for me. I mentioned "slow and low" a couple of times, and she promptly dismissed as that potentially not working with cancelled cycles due to multiple follicles as well.
I am so curious to see how things go these next few weeks. I am now taking estrogen pills (Premarin) and will have a sono and bloodwork this Friday. After this appointment they will confirm when I get on the other meds (progesterone supp., estrogen vaginal cream) before the hysteroscopy, which is scheduled for June 3. When we get to mock cycle, I'll be very curious to see his prognosis on how my body (uterus) is doing!
Heartcore, Keo, stef28, stacey88 - sorry I can't help you with charts and temps. Sounds like you guys have some good activity though.
Greetings to Tummy, Relka, rywaller and everyone else I missed!

Points: 5,167.70 Bank: 12,366.47 Total Points: 17,534.17 | relka and ry - I have the bloated belly too! I was attributing that to the bizarre carb cravings I'm having on it. I don't think I've lost an ounce on this stuff. It's just my fingers and feet that seem smaller. I should note that I'm also taking Bactrim for a UTI, so maybe that's drying me out? All I know is that my rings and shoes feel oh-so-nice instead of tight due to the usual morning and afternoon puffiness. :-)
TXan - I am absolutely fascinated by your treatment. It sounds so promising.
Stacey - your chart still looks good. Sore nips (for me) are caused by high levels of progesterone. You probably had a good, strong o. I don't want to speculate what it means that you don't feel it now b/c I think symptoms prob change everyday. You'll know in just a few (very long) days.
AHoff - I had a bit of trouble adding my FF link, so that's why I have the little car ticker and a link to my chart next to it. Other women somehow managed to make their tickers clickable, but I'm too dense for that. :-)

My Mood: Points: 15,661.15 Bank: 900.73 Total Points: 16,561.88 | Kdw - the thought of a real 2ww is very exciting!
Heartcore - Yes, IVF's rarely go on schedule. It is funny, for me, that my egg retrievals and embryo transfers were both on the same dates , 2 years apart exactly..so both my girls had the same due dates! They were born 10 days apart, July 6 and 16 and my due date was July 23.
Keo - Yeah, the vitex could cause the spotting..hopefully an O is coming
Ry - The provera stage seems to last forever
Relka -sounds like some good progress with your follies
Doolin - I don't know about the bloating..but that would make sense as ppl lose weight and water rentension can cause xtra weight..the clear skin is a perk. Is there another RE at Cornell you could use in the practice?? If this clinic is that good, perhaps someone with more bedside manner would take you as a patient..just a thought. I had the best RE in the world and I can't imagine making it through my IVF cycle without him. He would call me back if I was worried, tell it like it was, but still high five me..you need to have that kind of confidence/rapport in your RE when going through so much. I hope your gut tells you what to do.
Stef - that is fabulous!! 9dpo might be too early, but could also pick up low numbers of HCG. Most ppl test negative at 9dpo but the HPTs are usually looking for 25, so you could be over 10 and still show up.
Stacey - your temp rise looks great though! I had no symptoms when I tested BFP with my 2nd daughter.
Txan - good luck with everything in the coming weeks.
Relka - Not to answer for Txan, but when I did IVF, we had a mock embryo transfer where they did a pretend transfer so they could get a good idea the shape, etc of the uterus so it would be easier the day of real transfer.
Ahof - There 's a button on FF for getting a ticker. I put that in here on my siggie and it links to my chart.

Everyone else, hi, and hope you're well.
I myself just had a nasty two day stomach bug. DH was out in the woods doing survival training, so I was here alone. My mom convinced me to walk down to the clinic near my house, in case it was food poisoning, or something worse, and that was annoying, because I could have been comfy in bed for those 45 minutes I waited to see a physician's assistant, who told me there was a rotovirus going around, and I should stay hydrated. That was it. I was hoping for a shot of anti-nausea meds or something. Oh well. On the bright side, I lost 3 of the 8 pounds I gained quitting smoking!

Rywaller-I'm thin, but I've ALWAYS had the tiny pooch right around my bellybutton and I asked my Dr. about it when I was first DX PCOS and that is a characterisitc of PCOS. I was on Met for sometime and didn't notice the pooch increase nor decrease.
Hmmmm........maybe my OBGYN will run an HCG on me tomorrow (fri). Temp went up this AM.......YAY! But no early preggo symptoms really.....not even sore nipples or boobs so that kind of has me doubting if this month worked.

Points: 2,891.30 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,891.30 | I absolutely cannot keep up with this board.
I had weird news today. You likely forget how my last appt I was told that I don't have PCOS and that it may be an adrenal gland problem. My RE consulted with another endocrinologist (not a fertility one) and I guess my test results show that my adrenals are also fine. So....that leaves me with no answer as to why my periods have started going crazy the past 8 months. It can't be perimenopause as my LH and FSH are below 5 on Day 5 of my cycle. The RE wants me to come back soon (can't get in for 2 months though!!) and start discussing treatment. She had mentioned justv starting me on Clomid for 6 months and see if that works. If not, move on to more serious drugs. I am frustrated because I want to know what is wrong...there has to be a reason for this change in my body. normal periods my whole life and then a big change at 30 years old. I would get another opinion but there is only 1 fertility clinic in my area...as in, it serves the 4 provinces around me. I would have to fly or drive like 15 hours to get to another one. So...I guess I will put my trust in this for now. Any ideas as to what might be my problem?
Relka, your post a few days ago brought tears to my eyes. I think we all feel that way sometimes. I hope that your optimism has since returned. When I get in those mindsets I always think about something I read on a some doctor's website when I was spending time with my best friend Google (I can so relate to recent comments on this board about Google...my husband has tried to block that site from our internet! ha ha). Anyhow, the comment was: For women with PCOS, the question is not not much IF treatment will work but which treatment will work in acheiving pregnancy. I do realize that for some people nothing works, but I prefer to focus on that comment and try to believe in my heart that things will work out.
Doolin, I have much less experience in dealing with REs than the rest of the ladies on this board. I completely agree that the doctors should be open to questions and supportive of their patients needs. However, I think that technical ability and proven results trumps anything else in terms of important. Ideally we would have both!! ( of course)
Springtime - how is IVF going? Have you considered accupuncture before embryo transfer? I have read great things about that. Intuitively, it makes sense since blood flow to your uterus is essential and acc. has been proven to help with that. Good luck, I have been thinking of you.
Stacey, Stef, I hope this is your month. Good luck with the testing.

My Mood: Points: 3,031.36 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,031.36 | Yeah, I have always had slightly more fat around my belly button (but honestly, I think most women do) but it was still flat. Now it's sticking out more and seems more bloated. And I'm almost positive it's the Met because I just started noticing it about a month ago. At first I thought it was just the effect of being off BCPs but then I remembered that I was off BCPs last summer and didn't have this at all. It's annoying b/c during the summers, I practically live in my bathingsuit- going to the beach, boating, etc. Thinking about finding myself a cute one-piece now to hold this belly in!
Doolin-- I have the carb cravings too! I think they are getting a little better because I'm not really nauseous anymore. maybe it was just the thing we naturally crave when we feel nauseous?
Relka-- Totally agree- if the met will help in any way then it's worth it but still frustrating.
Deb-- yes, provera is taking forever. I feel like i've been on it for a month. Thankfully, I'm supposed to take my last one today. finally! how's the clomid treating you? after reading that blog people were talking about yesterday, i'm pretty anxious to try it.
Good morning to everyone else!

My Mood: Points: 3,403.91 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,403.91 | Relka - to tell you the truth, I don't have all the details on the mock cycle. From what I remember of my consultation, after my hysteroscopy/surgical procedure for my uterus, I will go through a cycle to see how well my uterus responds. I know I will take the estrogen and progestrone meds, but not sure if I will actually stim that cycle. Probably not, since he said the mock cycle would be good for him to determine what dosage he may need during the stim cycle, what extra meds, if any, I may need for my uterus to respond appropriately, as well as near the end of the cycle taking an endometrial biopsy to confirm lining is how it should be, as well as perform an HSG to make sure all is a go for a real cycle. I have a sono and bloodwork tomorrow AM, but I have to run to a meeting, so I'll have another consultation on the hysteroscopy procedure next week, so I'll be sure to get more info about next steps after that, specifically the mock cycle.
Have to run to a meeting, but I'll pop on again later!
