Pikachu - that's how I feel about all of these ways to test for ovulation. So far, none of them have ever been right for me..all fake outs.

My temp wasn't as high today..98.1, so I'm not so sure.

deb-98.3, 98.1! you O'd. those extra 50mg made the difference. your temp is still significantly higher than the previous 2 weeks and that's all you really need to look for. one more day of high temps and it is a definite.

pikachu- i was on clomid and was being monitored and i did at one point have a dominant follie that shrunk so i'm thinking my body was gearing up to O but just couldn't do it. the OV watch only detect the possibility that O is approaching which is why i temped. i still think it was worth the investment. if i get a BFN, i will use it again next cycle, in addition to temping, monitoring etc. even though i was monitored this cycle, i still think that i O'd earlier than they think i did. i am pretty certain i O'd before the IUI. i feel like i need to double check the docs b/c i've been monitoring my body a lot longer than them.

i resisted poas this morning. i hope i can last until tomorrow's beta that is provided i don't get AF. it still feels like she's on her way. how is everyone?

and i'm here *mark*

i usually go with Tummy's response of "well, I don't ovulate" - makes 'em uncomfortable right away! i say that when people tell me to relax or (my fave for SO MANY reasons): "Just have more sex!" Really, do you not understand how the female body works? oh well, guess they are lucky enough to not need to know how it works.

relka - i canNOT wait for your beta! GL!

deb - it looks good, i am keeping my fingers *crossed*

hello to everyone

i'm going to try the hypnosis. she sent me an article about it helping women with PCOS to menstruate - it was a really small test sample (as the article said) but it can't hurt, right?

Have a good day girls!

Just checking in for today/weekend, since I will be leaving soon for a 1/2 day vacation. I don't know why I'm so excited, but it'll be nice to have just gone to a couple of meetings this AM, and then have time on my own!!! Not that I've worked oh so hard lately, but my husband and some friends, as well as I, are all geared up to see Iron Man. There was talk of going to a 1PM show, but for the folks who don't want to leave all that early we are going to see a 4PM show. I'm being legit and taking a half day, just 'casue I want to, and it'll be fun to go to the mall for some mild retail therapy...

So, no more work for me until Monday! Will be busy early next week, but I will have marathon back to back Dr. apps on Thursday, so perhaps I'll have more interesting insight to my "predicament" late next week. Will definitely keep you all posted. Unfortunately I think ony tweaks will be suggested, so it may just be a waiting game.

I am in the process of exploring acupunturists, and having my first session tomorrow afternoon. I have another referall, so will probably check out one other acupuncturist next week. Since I will be taking at least one, if not two, months off, may as well test out some alternative techniques!

Have a great weekend.

Hi Ladies!

Deb, congrats on your (probable) O!

Txan, have fun at the movies!

Everyone else, have a good weekend!

DH is working a 24 hr shift, and I get all freaked out about serial killers when he's not here, so I will be drinking many beers tonight. So ironic that if I render myself incapacitated, where I would be easy pickings for the thousands (I'm sure of it) of serial killers who make my tiny town their home base, then I can relax and go to sleep.

Deb - I hope you o'd! Clomid reaked havoc on my temps -- my charts looked like richter scales. Hang in there!

Pikachu - I think the s/e's from clomid affect everyone differently. I had really crazy s/e's from it and I was only on 50mg. Mood swings (understatement), headaches/vision problems (which I later learned is good cause the stop taking it), bloating, fatigue, O pain, and crazy hot burning nips all through my LP. Wow, with all these benefits, I'm surprised I didn't start taking it recreationally. haha

Relka - hey lady. I didn't have a chance to weigh in yesterday on DH's therapist. But, seriously, did he think he was being helpful? That's ridiculous. Was he implying that you are being obsessive about it, or was he just ridiculing the extent of treatment? The former is a real concern (at least for me at times), the latter is just plain ignorant. One other thing: shouldn't you see a counselor together who is NOT dh's therapist? Isn't there some kind of conflict there?
I really hope you get good news this weekend. I can't believe you haven't tested yet!

Keo - My interest is piqued about this hypnotherapist. I'm really curious what you think. BTW, I saw your post of TTTC. Is that the board you usually go to? I don't think I've seen your name before. I hope to god you're not on BOTB, b/c those women get PG by sneezing in the same state as their husbands.

TXan - enjoy your mini-vaycay. Retail therapy sounds like a fantastic idea. And best best best of luck at your appointments next week. I hope you can get a good plan.

Whitney - Hang in there, girl. We're all pulling for you!!

Sooo... I am 10dpo. I don't know why I'm even thinking about the possibility that I could be PG. Let's see:
- I was still in the post-op no sexy demilitarized zone when I o'd;
- We only managed to BD the day after I o'd;
- My lap/hyst indicates that my tubes might not even work; BUT
I'm thinking of testing on sunday. It's craziness. I have this friend who has had both tubes removed (hydros) and she says she still gets excited in the 2ww .. so I guess this is a common affliction. Oy vay. :-)

Happy Friday everyone!

Deb -- I think you O'd too! Looks really really promising. Yay!

Relka -- I don't know how you've held off on POAS. I'm so hoping you get good news tomorrow.

Keo -- GL with the hypnosis! I'm all for trying anything, especially something as non-invasive as hypnosis. It can't hurt, that's for sure, and may help you at least with relaxation during these anxious times.

TXan -- have a great day today. Yep, I'm all about shopping after BFNs. The elation is only temporary, but it is a nice break from feeling bad. Combine ice cream with that and you'll be back to your old self in no time! I'm really hopeful about your appts. Even just getting a different perspective may help clarify things. And the acupuncture sure can't hurt, either.

Laura -- I'm the same way when DH works night shifts. For some reason when he's gone, my dog gets hypervigilant, I guess being protective of me, and he barks at every little thing, making me even more freaked out. One night he woke me up barking at 3AM, so I drag myself out of bed, find my glasses, and look out the window to see what he's alerting me to -- it was a possum. Good dog.

Doolin -- I don't blame you at all for wanting to test this 2ww. If the egg was around for 24 hrs you could have caught it! Wouldn't that be something?! Thanks for thinking of me.

I'm doing okay. DH and I are escaping for a weekend at a lake resort nearby to celebrate our 6th anniversary. Spa day tomorrow, which will be great, and just what I needed. Hopefully it will pass the time quickly, too. This next week is going to drag...

keo- i'm kinda interested in the hypotherapy too. keep us informed about how it goes.

txan- that's a nice treat. enjoy the retail therapy and movie.

laura32- LOL! i lived alone for so many years and then after Dh and i moved in together and married i got so use to having him here that it is hard to sleep in the house alone. i usually keep the TV on for company.

doolin- i guess there is always the hope that egg and sperm find a way to meet. go ahead and test. maybe you'll get a surprise. what's going on with the clinical trial?

DH and i are headed to his aunt and uncle in CT so i'll do my beta in the morning. it may be good to be out of town when i get the news. i think i have already cried so much the last 2 days and mentally prepared for the BFN and provided no one stirs my pot of emotions with a phonecall like, "oh i slipped on a banana and got pregnant." i should be able to make it through the weekend.

i forgot to tell you guys that on Monday my body must have been on auto pilot b/c instead of heading towards work i headed towards my RE's office. i live in NYC and take a different train to work than i do to my RE. so i was about 4 to 5 stops along before i realized that i was going to wrong place. it gave me a good laugh.

Relka - that made me LOL. Seriously. Absolutely hilarious. I was on a grand jury for 4 weeks in july and got all the way to the courthouse (chambers st) before realizing where I was and that I was supposed to be at work (midtown east). But your story takes the cake. I can't stop giggling.

DH and I had a long talk last night about the clinical trial. Although nothing is set in stone, I think I may not do it and instead head back to Cornell. It would be very stressful to be going back and forth to Morristown so much, and adding stress to IVF doesn't make much sense. Thanks for asking.

I really really hope you get a good, strong beta tomorrow. I don't know how you're holding out.

OH! One mor thing for the met ladies:
When do you up your met dose (I need to go from 1000 to 1500)? When you lose the nausea or do you wait till even the "runs" go away?
Thanks (and sorry TMI)!

Tummy, have an awesome time!

Doolin, I only had digestive mishaps for the first two days of upping the dose, so it's hard to say, but I stayed on each dose for two weeks, rather than the one week my doctor recommended, and I really think it helped. My SE were minimal. The one thing that I think helped more than anything else is that I always took my pills mid-meal. The few times I forgot, and took a couple hours after I ate, I had yucky tummy.

doolin- i would wait until the "runs" have gone away. sometimes you have to wait 3-4 weeks before upping the dose. it really would have been very stressful to go all the way to morristown. so when would you start the IVF process at Cornell.
it is easy to hold out when you are expecting a BFN. My AF cramps are pretty serious today.

Relka - thanks for the positive words. I hope you're right about the "O".
I remember feeling like AF was coming any minute with DD1's pregnancy..so cross fingers for you. That is too funny about the auto pilot.

Keo - interesting..I hope that goes well!

TXan - Retail therapy is always a good thing. I hope the acu goes well.

Laura - I know that 'serial killer' feeling. I have a huge 70-lb dog and it seems when DH isn't home and I'm showering (when I think all killers strike), the dog always starts barking like mad and I get freaked out.

Doolin - Heck, I'll want to test even when I know for sure I'm not pg..it's just addicting..always hoping for that miracle 2 lines to show up. I upped my met after a week on 1000.

Whitney - That sounds like a nice weekend for you.
