My endo told me something at my last appointment that I'd never heard/read before - that thin cysters typically have a European background. He specifically mentioned Irish, Scottish, Welsh and German - and yup, my heritage is Scotch/Irish and Polish. He said if I'd had a typical American, Asian or Pacific Islander heritage, I'd be 100 pounds heavier than I am. Wow!
Interesting. I'm of Scottish/Welsh/English on one side and French/Northern Italian on the other. I've never heard this before, but it sounds interesting. Although I wonder what a 'typical' American background would be

Hmm... I'm not 100% sure of my descent!! Paternal: grandma is of Irish descent and grandpa is Quebecois with French roots (I guess). Maternal: grandma is Quebecoise with French and Aboriginal roots and grandpa is American...

one of my friends is a thincyster and her sister has what is considered more typical weight for PCOS and they are both of Euro descent -- not sure what that means ...

Not a thin cyster here by any means, but I was curious about this thread. I don't know if it holds true or not. I'm Scottish, Irish, Welsh, German, and Native American (an itty bitty bit back on my Dad's side)...and I'm definitely not a thin cyster.

That is interesting. I'm Welsh/English/German on one side; English/Italian on the other as far as we know. Don't know as much about my mom's side of the family as I do about my dad's.
