we didn't try! seriously! We were told to not try for the 1st 2 months on met. I couldn't take BCP due to high rate of breast cancer in my family, and I'm allergic to latex so that left out condoms! We tried natural family planning, and tried to avoid ovulation time! Guess that didn't work too well! We had been trying for almost 2 years before we got our 1st BFP! Good luck and lots of baby dust!

Thinone: All I was taking was met. What did I do? A lot of waiting! Also, I was very patient. I knew that when it was meant for "my plan" it would happen. I prayed a lot. I was very casual about the whole process, and when I needed to vent I had these wonderful girls to witch at!

Thank you for your response. i just read that you got pregnant by the clomid Congrats! So my first month I took 500 mg and my progesterone level was 35. Then my second month on the same amount I only ovulated at a 6. Now I am in my 3rd month (and before the Clomid we were trying since Aug (clearly nothing was going to happen then). I am now taking 1000 mg of Clomid and have a very heavy period--but right on time. I have an appointment with a endo-repo in 3 weeks to talk about options and get another opinion--but I am hoping that the 1000 will work. I am 5'5 and weigh 108--so I am worried about the possibility of multiples and me being able to carry them to term. Also, could you tell me please what tcc means? I take 1500 mg of metformin XR every night and have been doing so since I was 23 when I was diagnosed. (after probably having PCOS since the onset of my first period) So I am stressing this whole thing big time--but of course trying my hardest not to. What are your thoughts?
29 yrs, 105ish lbs.--been trying the regular way since Aug--nothing (did the whole taking my temperature thing, no changes ever). Been on 500 mg of Clomid for two months--ovulated at a 35, and then a 6--then nothing. Now I'm on 1000mg of Clomid. I am totally convinced that prior to Clomid I had never ovulated in my entire life! (given what I have felt and seen these past two months) I am not convinced this is going to work. My husband is not into the whole IVF thing right now--expensive and rough--but I am an emotional wreck, although trying to get a grip.
I think that was a typo and she meant ttc- which is trying to conceive and I think you already answered her. Good luck, come join us over on the the thin cysters TTC list. It seems like we've had a lot of luck there lately with at least 5 postivie pregnancy tests in the last month! I'm hoping to the join the club. :-)

Thinone: I know how you feel, ttc is such an emotional roller coaster. My husband was also not for IVF, only b/c we allready have a DD (dear daughter). We both have infertility issues and we were supposed to start our first round of IUI next week. It was a huge shock to get a BFP! I really wasnt expecting it.
I wish you all the baby dust. I hope that you find comfort with all the wonderful girls on the thin ttc thread. Please feel free to ask any questions.
daisy-- ! Congrats on your BFP!! Have you talked to the doc yet? You got preg just on the met? That is great! You must be so excitied! I hope that you will continue to post here. Let us know what the doc says and your first u/s and EDD.
Amy- hope you are feeling better! very good to hear that the spotting stopped. Do you have to do anything now or avoid doing anything? Have a great weekend, you are in my thoughts!
thinone- patience and a lot of it, is what it takes. I know those can be empty words right now, but it helps to be on these boards. I found talking to other people going through this so much better then talking to DH (who is great, but it isn't the same) or my family or even my girlfriends. The thincysters ttc were very supportive and understanding and a great source of information. My whole process from going off bcp, dx, starting the metformin, switching to metformin XR, then starting the clomid, and finally my BFP started in august 2005. You started on 500mg of clomid? If you take that much does it limit how many rounds you can take? What cd(cycle day) are you on now? You already started taking your 1000 mg of clomid? Don't worry about IVF yet, there are steps you can take before that, so try not to worry about it yet. Again, easy said then done, I know.

thank you for your good wishes and thoughts. It is a tremendous help/new support system for me to listen and learn from everyone going through the same stuff I have been through and am going through. I made a mini mistake with my clomid: I took 50 the first 2 months, and now I am on 100. Sorry about that, didn't make any sense the other way. The funny thing is that I have been on metformin this whole time--that's why I am not holding out much hope--but then again...
