thank you for your thoughts....

Some parts of the day are better then others, as you may remember. I am thankful that I do not have a child that I have to worry about....Trisha, I can't imagine how hard that must have been to be on bedrest with a 16 month old too. OR Amy for you earlier in this pregnancy when you were in bed for those weeksand still having to take care of your daughter. I met a woman inthe hospital who has a 2 yr old son who is trying to understandf why mom is in the hospital when she doesn't look sick. That would make this all that much harder.

I am making contacts to get help at home and my parents will be here a couple more days and my sister is coming to help out for 1-2 weeks. I just need the piece of mind that all the logistic of taking care of me are covered so I can focus on myself and the babies. I just hate not being in control of this situation. My husband can work from home on Fridays, which is doctor day, but he really has to go into the office, but as we get farther into summer things may slow down so that he can do another day at home or a half-day. My MIL just had kneww surgery otherwise she would be here, so in a couple of weeks, I can count on her again to help out and we get along very very well.

I will update often, now that I have computer access again. Forgive me for not including personals earlier.

Its seems that you are both doing great and I always look forward to hearing about what is going on.

You just focus on you and those babies and the rest will fall into place! Dont worry about the nursery and all of the other stuff, that will all work out. Hopefully, you will have help of family to help with that. I had a friend that was on bedrest for the last trimester and we had her baby shower in her hospital room. I know your mind is running wild but stay positive for your two miracles, they will be just fine. I'm thinking of you.

I hope it is ok to post here... I am so excited to join this thread

I got my first BFP last week and I just got off the phone with my RE and he said my blood work from this morning is all good!! I am still in shock!! I had my first appointment with an RE ever on 5/31/07 to get a second opinion on my PCOS diagnosis and when we got to the ultrasound portion of the initial visit there was a follicle at 21mm. He offered an IUI and after talking with my husband over the phone we decided to go for it. Last month had been particularly hard on me emotionally, I was convinced I was pregnant and when AF showed I was devastated. So they triggered me the next day with the follicle at 24mm and I had the IUI that afternoon. And now I am pregnant!!! I am not on any meds but my acupuncturist is going to treat me through the first trimester, I don't know if I am being naive but I feel in my heart that it will be ok. I guess that is all you can do right? I can't let myself give into the fear of miscarriage, I will drive myself crazy!

I haven't had a chance to catch up with this thread, so I will be getting to know you all as time goes on.

If I was going to have morning sickness would it already set in? I feel strangely good and I know it can't stay like this for long or can it?

cbrubaker- glad to hear you have a positive outlook. My theory has always been to enjoy and hope for the best instead of worrying and preparing for the worst. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot we can do either way, so might as well try to enjoy it as much as you can. Morning sickness could strike you pretty much at anytime, but you might be lucky and miss it altogether too. I've had very minimal morning sickness with this one.

Amy- just a suggestion, but you may want to add a link to the old thread directing to this one or we might miss a few people. I almost missed it myself (and I already admitted I'm addicted!)

AMF- hope you are doing okay and I'm thinking of you. I do worry about having to do it again this time now that I have two kids (although my daughter's older now and they pretty much entertain themselves, so maybe it wouldn't be as hard as it was last time)

Smile **Trying to get info*

I am new to this webstie so I'm still trying to figure out how things work...Well I'm thin (5'2" 117lbs) not insulin resistant and was recently dx with pcos.My ob put me on metformin which I'm just barely workin my way up 2 1000mg..But my question is why did he put me on this because it seems like it's only 4 insulin resistant people and also is there any thing else i can do to increase my odds of conception,as me and my husband have been wanting a baby for a long time now..Thank u so much

HI,

Mets worked great for me and my doctor doesn't test for IR since he says the tests can be unreliable so he prescribes it regardless, so don't know if I am or not. Met and low carb/good carb diets are good for PCOS (although admittedly I didn't stick very closely this time around and I still got pregnant) Also, for knowing more about your body and what to expect in your cycles, you can read the BEST book ever... Taking Charge of your Fertility. There are a ton of options out there if met doesn't work for you, but give it at least a few months. it took me 3-4 months each time on it to get pregnant. Anyone else have advice?

Hi NessRio84,
I hate to sound like a broken record to anyone else who has read my other posts, but I am a total advocate of acupuntcure. I am really fortunate though, I have always gotten my period. My cycles have been between 31-36 days up until March when I had a 50+ day cycle, which is when I was diagnosed and started my acupuncture treatment. She said to give her 3 months and my cycles would be normal and they were. My first month was 34 days, the second was 31 and my 3rd was on track to be 30, but I got pregnant, of course the IUI I had that cycle sure helped.

Again, it may be more effective for me since really the only symptoms of PCOS I have are hormone imbalances, I don't have cysts, or amenorrhea, but either way I think it is beneficial. What symptoms do you have? How long are your cycles?

hi,

feeling a little more positive today; my parents left about 30mins ago, but my sister arrived last night to take over for a little over a week. I made a lot of contacts today and have people coming over next week to talk about helping out....never thought I would conduct an interview in my bed!

Still feeling good, babies moving a lot! Finally those wedge pillows arrived today and they are an improvement.

cbru-congrats and welcome!!! My b-day is late Feb--good month to have a b-day! I started having m/s and heartburn at about 5 weeks and it lasted until 10 1/2. I felt great in the beginning too, and maybe you won't ever have m/s; my friend who is 7 months preggie now didn't have one ounce of nausea. If you don't either, consider yourself lucky and it doesn't mean anything as far as viability you will have just lucked out! When is your first prenatal visit?

Ness-I too never showed IR in blood work, but met and clomid worked for me as I am preg with twins. Met may help balance out your hormone issues....do research along with your doctor's advice, being informed is the best advice I can give. How long have you been on the Met? Be prepared for it to take up to 6 months to work and then keep in mind you may need to add fertility meds. I used my obgyn, she has a lot of experience with PCOS, but consider a consult with an RE if you feel you need more intensive/specified care. Exercise (reduces stress and keeps you fit), eat well but healthy, try and stay positive and use these boards for resources and venting!

amy and trisha-thank you once again. Can I just say how great it has been to go on this journey of ttc and pregnancy knowing you are here to listen and advise. It has been a huge help for me, especially now and b/c you both have had bedrest experience too! You guys are great comfort! Hope you are feeling good!

Ness: I was never tested for IR but Met has helped regulate my cycles and hormones. I started taking it last Septemeber after ttc for many months. After a month or two I noticed a huge difference. I do agree that diet and exercise are a big piece of the puzzle. Is your DR up on PCOS? How long have you been on met?
