Thanks for starting the new thread refrain. I was just noticing we had a lot of posts in the old one.
I had a dream last night that I was in labor. I never actually had the baby, though. It was a lot of waiting around and stuff. Waiting for an exam room to open, waiting for my husband to show up, went to a party at the beach with all my old college friends, had to run back to the hospital to try and have the baby again...It was strange. I think it's because I was a little crampy before bed.
Has anyone had some cramps later on in pg? I almost wouldn't even consider them cramps. They're like pre-cramps. Like I can feel it, but it doesn't hurt, but it might if it gets any worse, but it never does. And I don't think they're BH, because my belly doesn't tighten or anything, but I have no idea. Any thoughts?

Sheepie - I was going to say it sounds like BH, but I would think you'd notice your belly getting tight. The tightening wasn't something I felt inside, though, it was more like the outside was suddenly harder than it was before. Does that make sense?
There's a measles outbreak in my area which has everyone on high alert. The first case came out over the weekend, a 2yo in the suburbs. Yesterday they announced another case of an adult in my actual city. It was a little freaky when they announced the first case, but now it's hitting closer to home...
It's amazing how contagious it is. I'm not worried about DS, since he's been vaccinated, but apparently it's not good for pg women to be exposed to the virus. I know my chances of being exposed are incredibly slim, so I'm trying to stay rational about it and not worry. I'm not locking myself up at home or anything! LOL But that thought is always in the back of my head now. How do I know if the person in front of me at the grocery store isn't unknowingly carrying the virus?
Ah, the joys of pregnancy - always another thing to worry about!

Hi Ladies! Not much going on just counting down the days until I leave for the Bahamas! Only 6 more days!!
How's everyone else doing?
Refrain- Have you been eating like crazy?
Sheepie- I hope your cramps go away.
Thirteen- That is kind of creepy with the measles out break. It never hurts to be extra cautious. Although I'm not sure how to be without leaving the house like you said
flow- Any baby yet?

Got a call from the doctor. Failed my 1 hr glucose screen (but I expected that, I know only a few people that have ever passed it). So I go in for the 3 hour on Monday. Gotta go get some good trashy magazines.
In a more concerning note, my anemia has not gotten better. Doctor is now very concerned and will be doing more blood work on me to figure out what the problem is. My counts were ridiculous. I mean, our cancer patients on chemo here in the hospital have better blood counts than me. Apparently my iron supplements, prenatals and diet are not sufficient still. Wonder what comes next... hopefully not the icky iron supplimentation stuff that you have to swallow....<ack!>
But all this anemia really explains why I can't walk down the hall without feeling like I'm going to keel over and die. I was just secretly hoping the pills etc. would have resolved it all by now. my body sucks.

Refrain, that sucks. I hope they can fix it by giving you lots of spinach! (I love spinach ) What happens with anemia? Sorry about the 1 hour. Yes, I highly recommend trashy magazines. That's what I did--helped pass the 3 hours relatively well!
Crazy--I am sitting here at my desk at work and can totally see the baby kicking or punching through my shirt. So weird! My hubby today said that he thinks we're going to have a small baby, based on how big/small I am. Not small as in too small, just a petite baby! I'm okay with that!
I don't know what everyone's stance on vaccines are, but I'm sorry--if people vaccinated their kids, then diseases like measles wouldn't even be popping up like this. I'm hardly ever that opinionated on things like this, but until they can give me a definite link between vaccines and autism, there seems to be more harm than good in not vaxing your kids.

ya with the whole vaccine issue, its not so much the vaccine that is the issue its the carrier fluid that the virus, particles or peptides are suspended in that they think are causing the possible adverse effects. It's a huge painful medical debate...conclusion thus far, the science is not consistant and the experiments have not been properly developed to arrive at a fair answer yet. But they're working on it!
sorry about your cramps sheepie...I've been getting the BH thing goin on. Luckily only about once a day though.
Prolonged anemia can cause growth retardation (small babies). I have a feeling that's why my little girl is starting to lag behind. Even though I've done the best I can do thus far, it still makes me feel like crap that something wrong with my stupid body can be effecting such an innocent little one.

I'm here! Thanks for starting the new thread, Refrain.
Refrain: Sorry that you are struggling with anemia. I hope they can get to the root cause and figure out a good way to get your levels to normal. Hope your 3-hour GTT goes by quickly and that you pass.
Sheepie: That was a funny dream! I liked the part about you going to the beach and then going back to the hospital. (LOL)
Wantsababy: Glad everything is well with you.
Thirteen: How scary! I hope that you stay safe and are not exposed to the measles. I agree w/Sheepie on the vaccines.
I have my doctor's appointment this afternoon at 3:15. We should get another ultrasound. I have been SO excited to finally see him/her again and to see the amazing changes that have occurred in 4-1/2 weeks! It's gonna be a long day until 3:15 arrives.
Apparently we haven't heard from Flow yet? I hope everything went well.

Wantsababy – Oh wow, you leave in 6 days!?! Have a great time! Where in the Bahamas are you going?
Refrain – Sorry you failed your 1 hr test. Good luck on the 3hr – I’m sure you’ll pass with flying colors! And I’m really sorry to hear your iron levels are so low and you’re worried about your little ones. Is there something that could be causing the huge drain on your iron? Obviously the babies are going to be taking a lot, but it also sounds like you should be making up for all that between your diet & supplements.
Sheepie – That’s so cool that you can see the baby kick through your shirt! I hope you’re lucky enough to have a baby that’s a healthy weight, but still on the small side.
Bobbysgirl – Good luck at your appt today. I hope the u/s goes well and you get to see some great new shots of the baby.
Re Flo – She posted a post-partum question on the mommy board and at the bottom she said she’d be on soon to post her birth story and lots of pics. So I know Baby Kaleb is here and it sounds like she’s home. Can’t wait to hear her update and see pics!
As for vaccines, I’ve been reading some pretty heated debates. I understand both sides of the issue and I certainly don’t mean to spark a debate here. I personally decided to vax my child and will do the same for #2. But I can understand how some parents are a little leery. I think it’s important, as with a lot of these parenting questions, to do your research and make a decision that’s best for your family.
I still think it stinks that there's measles running around my town though. Why couldn't it have struck a few months ago when I wouldn't have thought twice?

Floow posted on another thread and Kaleb is here and healthy. She said that the birth wasn't what she was expecting, but she'd go into details later.

Thirteen- We are going to the Atlantis in Paradise Island. Dh and I are very excited!
Refrain- I'm sure you'll pass your 3 hour. Like you said I don't know may people who passed the 1 hour. I also hope your anemia gets better and your babies keep growing
Bobbysgirl- Have fun seeing your baby today! Are you going to post your u/s pic?
Sheepie- Your dream about labor was pretty funny. I have been having some pretty vivid dreams lately about pregnancy but not labor yet, I'm sure it those dreams will come the further along I am

Wantsababy: I will attempt to post the ultrasound pic. Whenever I try to post pics to SC they are too large and I can't seem to resize the properly. Hopefully, this time it will work.
BTW, your trip sounds delightful!!
Congrats, Flo0w! Looking forward to hearing your birth story and to see pics of Kaleb.

We had an appointment this morning and got to hear the hb's w/the dopper...144 and 146, the nurse giggled because she heard so much movement.
I got a little lecture on weight gain, I've only gained 8lbs so far and need to be gaining more. Dr said I need to be eating about 3,000 calories a day. So I'm working on it.
I will also be done with work in about 9 weeks. I work in a daycare and do lots of lifting/bending and it does take a toll on my back. So he wants me to be done to keep the babies safe.
We will get our next u/s on May 8th, I will be almost 18 weeks then so we are hoping to find out the sexes!
