My Mood: Points: 17,529.21 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,529.21 | wantsababy-I had a cold when I first got pregnant (at 9 weeks) and then I just got over a cold this past week. I guess they were actually colds that turned into sinus infections... anyway, the doctor prescribed me a Z-Pack both times and it made all the difference in the world. They're safe to take and make you feel better fast.
My poor DH is in for a rude awakening when he gets back into town tomorrow. I've written out a list of To Do's that I want done before May 1st. All the way from do ALL of the laundry, mow the grass to sweep out the garage and clean the baseboards. Stuff that the "magic fairy" normally does, but can't anymore because she's knocked up.

My Mood: Points: 4,652.70 Bank: 12,438.07 Total Points: 17,090.77 | I just watched the Police arrest a guy down the street! I was outside reading in the shade of my umbrella and I heard this screaming going on. At first I thought it was a man and a woman and patiently waited a min. for it calm down. Well it didn't, so I walked around the side of the house to see if I could see what's up. Five houses down a guy is in his underware screaming at the kid next door to him, something about dogs and bee bee guns. (keep in mind at this time some other neighbors are out watching the scene play out). I almost called the cops... but didn't. I walked back around to read some more and then I hear the police roll up! I walked back around and stood w/ the SAHM next door (she did call the police) and they guy is getting taken away!
I had no idea so much crap goes down while you stay at home! And who is this crazy guy living in my neighborhood! He was wearing black briefs to! YUK!

wantsababy...Welcome back. Glad you had a great time on your trip.
Sounds like the DH's are being PIA's this week. I hope they start to get their act together.
Staying Home: I am going to stay home for the first 6 months and see how that goes. I doubt we can afford for me to stay home any longer.
Pedi's & Daycare: Sheepie and Aturn...Have you found them? I still haven't began looking. I don't even know where to start with the daycare and it sounds like the waiting lists are long so I need to get going! I am going to get a list of pedi's from my doc tomorrow but haven't started that either. I feel so ready everywhere else but in these two areas!
Nothing new here. Just checking in. I have an appointment tomorrow but I am sure it is just a 5 min. one like usual. Then we will schedule for 2 weeks from now and I will get an U/S! It has been so long since I have seen this little one.
Hope everyone is doing well. Thinking about you all!
~Amber

My Mood: Points: 17,529.21 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,529.21 | Had Drs visit today. I waited for 2 hours in the waiting room. I've waited for an hour and half before, so I just figured my doc was doing another emergency c-section or something. I finally got up and went inside the door and found one of my doctors nurses. Turns out, the front desk checked me in, but didn't tell them I was there! Everyone in the office (the nurses, the doc) were packing up to go home when I stepped back there!
Appointment went ok. Blood pressure is starting to climb, prepreg my systolic was 96...then 110..then 115...then 120...now its 130. She says if it gets to 140, its time to start talking about pre-eclampsia. yay. one more thing to worry about
Doc gave me a note today that told my boss I need to either cut my hours back or work from home. We'll see how she takes that news tomorrow...
I'm 28 weeks and measuring 33 weeks, so doing good for the twins.
The babies get measured in two more weeks so hopefully they are still the same size and playing nice with each other.
Aturn-that's awesome about the cops. I'm addicted to the show Cops and would probably be so stoked if I saw it live!
Cali-Good luck with your appointment tomorrow, hope all is going well.

I just don't get it. What is it in their brains! If I see a messy house I think, I need to clean this. If I see a laundry pile, I think, I need to do this laundry. If its 7pm, I think, we need to eat dinner. | Part of me wants to think, oh...thats just how men are. But...I think they just assume we will let them get away with it. Im trying to be careful here because if I get upset, I don't want DH to blame it on "hormones", b/c then I would just go off, and he would just think he was right all along. Of course...I get paranoid and think "Is he just hanging out with his friends because Im getting on his nerves?" etc. That really may be the hormones talking though.
Sorry I didn't mean to turn this into a VENT on DH thread, but its really been bugging me lately *lol* Quote:

I was having some pretty bad "cyst like" pain around my left ovary, so I went in to see my OB. Right before I left she decided to have me get an ultrasound and they were able to see the gender!! Im psyched.
Aturn----ACK! I had a terrrrrrible COPS moment a couple years ago. We had just moved into our house, and I was napping on the couch. I heard screaming outside so I looked out the window. The woman across the street was running around her yard TOTALLY NAKED. I mean...naked as the day you are born!! I guess her husband and her were fighting b/c he was chasing her around the yard trying to pull her hair. I called the cops real quick on that one.

Dh is hanging out with his best friend (again), so I plan on having the house super clean.....Im hoping my DH will feel guilty that I worked all day then came home and cleaned. If he doesn't feel guilty, I plan on making him feel guilty. I mean...he didn't even clean the litter pan today. He isn't working right now--the least he can do is clean the poo!

I guess I stewed over it while I was asleep last night, b/c this morning I feel very irritated at him, and its reached the point where I just have to say something. Ive let him get away with it because I knew he was feeling down, due to losing his job, etc. I didn't want to nag about stuff because I felt like he had enough going on already. BUT----I can't do this alone. And he needs to know now that I can't do it alone. We have a baby coming and there is still a lot to prepare and I just can't do it all!

My Mood: Points: 6,606.71 Bank: 39,137.28 Total Points: 45,743.99 | Evyn...I am glad you are getting to this point. It's so not fun but it's needed. I was about as far as you are when I had a mini break down and was crying because I was just so overwhelmed and having all this baby stuff on top of everything we normally do is just so stressful. We shouldn't have to take on all this extra responsibility by ourselves. I told DH that I need help and can't do all this by myself! Luckily, he is very open to helping with things so I just gave him a bunch of stuff to do and he did it. Maybe with your DH helping around the house and getting things ready for the baby will make him feel better in the end since he will be contributing.
Refrain...Sorry about your DH. Put the smack down on him. lol
One thing I don't get is how do we see things so different from them? They only see superficial stuff while cleaning and doing things around the house when we see every detail. Like I would accidentally knock something down and just leave it there to see if he would ever pick it up but nope he will just walk by it forever unless I picked it up. I just don't get it. My DH does do a lot so I can't get too down on him but I just don't get their train of thought some times. My DH rant is over, lol.
So I am at the point where I can't sleep well at night. Sleeping on either side hurts my back and ribs and sleeping on my back crushes me. Anyone find any good tips for this? I am also starting to get sore under my belly like there is too much pressure. I feel like I did like 1000 leg lifts or something. Well I could have it worse so I am glad this is all I have to complain about.
Hope all is well with everyone! Have a good Friday.
~Amber

Points: 49,590.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 49,590.90 | Hey ladies! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately. I tried to stop in the other day but my computer ate my post before it made it to the thread. I’m always reading up though.
Aturnbg – Wow, what a crazy afternoon with the neighbor getting arrested! I own a duplex and I was over there on Wed checking on the gardens and my tenants said they saw some kid break into a car and steal a laptop in front of the house in broad daylight! I was floored! Granted, I live in the city, but it’s a really nice neighborhood. I am amazed that someone could be so bold!
CaliGirl – Hope your appt went well!
Refrain – OMG, no wonder your BP was high! I would have been ticked if I’d sat around for 2h for an appt, only to find out no one knew I was there! I hope the BP starts to level off. Pre-e is no fun and bedrest is even worse. I hope you’re able to cut your hours soon – and I definitely hope you’re able to work out your mat leave with HR. And all I can say about your DH’s response is WOW! Some guys just don’t get it.
Evyn – Sorry your DH isn’t pulling his weight. I agree with CaliGirl, you should tell him you need help and be specific about the things you’d like him to do.
Re DH/Men: I am LMAO at all the crazy stories you ladies have about your DHs. I have my share too! What is with it with guys? DH will sit on the couch watching tv and wonder why DS is crying. Um… it’s past dinner time and no one’s made an effort to feed him yet. (rolls eyes) But I have to admit he’s a super big help around the house and he’s come a long way over the past couple years. Did you ever hear the theory that planning a wedding gives you insight into how the marriage will be? I never really understood that, but I definitely believe that pregnancy is like a dress rehearsal for parenthood. All the tiredness and aches & pains we deal with, which cause us to slow down and need more help, is a taste of what it’ll be like when the baby comes. I don’t think either DH or I realized it at the time, but now I totally see how by slowing down and asking him to help out I was “prepping” him for baby bootcamp. If I have any pregnancy advice at all, it’s get your partner to step up now so you’re not dealing with it when you’re totally frazzled and uber-hormonal after the baby comes. It’s not going to be perfect – and we’ll never get them to do as much as we’d like – but every little bit helps. Just my .02.
I've been super tired lately and dealing with headaches, nausea (still!), and heartburn (already?). I feel like crap most of the time, especially after work. I have my next OB appt on Monday and I can't wait to go in and tell him how bad I feel. And see if we can find something that's wrong. I was tired and sick last time, but this time it seems worse. Unfortunately I fully expect him to say "Yeah, you're pregnant how'd you think you would feel!"
This weekend my friend A's DD is being baptized. I work with A and it's a family-owned company so she brings her DD to work 3 days a week. I can't wait to see her all dolled up in her baptismal gown! DH isn't a fan of catholic mass (he says they're too long LOL) and since we'll have DS with us I offered to come for the baptismal ceremony, but then cut out of church early and go to the park where they're having the reception and do all the last minute set-up so A doesn't have to worry about it. DH is thrilled because he & DS can play in the park while I get things ready. And A and her family can all just come to the party and not have to worry about anything.
Other than that we have no weekend plans. Anyone else doing anything fun this weekend?

My Mood: Points: 26,730.31 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 26,730.31 | Amber--I can't get comfortable at night anymore either. Both sides hurt and I can't breathe on my back. What I've been doing is sleeping on either side as much as I can stand, then I end up propping myself up in bed, so at least I can put the pressure on my butt instead of my hips. I sleep like that for a few hours and then I usually go back down to one of my sides (by then I'm so tired I think I must be ignoring the pain!
Oh, and that's funny you mentioned knocking things over to see if DH picks it back up--there's a receipt that fell off the counter in the kitchen a few days ago and I haven't wanted to bend over and pick it up and I figured DH would do it...not yet...
Yeah, I think I'm about ready to have a major sit-down with hubby about needing his help...
Oh, and Amber, about daycare--Definitely go out and look and put yourself on a list. All the ones out here have major lists, like I went the day I turned 12 weeks (Nov 07) and they said they had a wait list until Jan 09. People aren't even pregnant yet for that date! And we haven't gotten a pedi yet...
13--sorry you're not feeling well. I remember the headaches all too well...
Me--not doing anything this weekend. Since hubby works nights, he's either at work or sleeping all the time, so that leaves me with nothing to do
