bobbysgirl - Good luck at the apt. Hope you get to see your little bean!

wantsababy - Have a great time at Atlantis! I've always wanted to go there! You'll have to give us all the details when you get back. I'm anxious to hear how it is. I dream DH and I can go there in like 6 years after the girls get older, like a 2nd honeymoon or something!

refrain - That totally sucks about the anemia not getting any better and the failing of he glucose test. I hope you pass the 3 hr test, I'll be praying for ya girl! Trust me , you don't want to add testing your blood sugar 4x's a day like me, it totally sucks! Anyway, how low is your hgb & hct? My hgb hasn't gotten lower then 11.5 yet, so they are fine w/ me staying off the Fe+ supplements. Have you been adding Fe+ rich foods to the diet to help?

My op on vacinations - I totally understand the fear of babies getting autism, but we are talking about serious diseases that parents are choses not to vaccinate their children agianst. Not only are they not protecting their children they are also not protecting our society health. I find it horrifying in fact, when I hear of people chosing fear of a maybe chance of getting autism (which hasn't been proven - and has some strong research out there that it may have nothing to do with autism) vs. not protecting a child and future adult from a serious disease which they could be exposed to a some point in their life. Imagine your child as a grown up and taveling someday and picking up something that they should have been vaccinated agianst. Food for thought! Sorry if sounds like a rant.

What do you think about delayed vaccinations for 6 months to 1 year when their systems are more able to handle any side effects?

Wantsababy – The Atlantis is in Nassau right? My DH and I did a cruise a few years ago and stopped in Nassau. We didn’t get a chance to check out the Atlantis, but I heard fabulous things about it – I’m sure you’ll love it! If you get a chance to get off-property, the old fort and the Queen’s staircase are pretty cool, and within walking distance of some good food and shopping.

Hsuter – Glad you had a good appt. Sorry they’re on you about weight gain. 3000 calories sounds like a lot to take in, but I’m sure the babies need it!

Caligirl – I’m ok with delayed vaccinations and I’m ok with breaking them up. I know some parents choose not to do so many at once, which tends to drag out the vax process a little longer but they feel it’s better for their DC’s system to only fight one or two things at a time. The one most often delayed is the MMR. It’s usually given at 12 or 15 mos, but some parents choose to wait till the 18 mo or 2 yr appt. We followed the standard schedule and have done all vacs on time with the exception of Chicken Pox and the flu shot. I’m not a big fan of the flu shot and I was conflicted on whether I wanted to vax for CP or not. In the end I’ve decided to vax for CP, but it hasn’t been available at our ped’s office yet.

Hi ladies!

Allison - welcome - H&H 9 (or close!) months to you!

Refrain, Aturn, Hsuter - how are the rest of the twin mommas? Sorry to hear about your anemia, Refrain. My best friend's mom had it pretty bad with her, and ended up having to have shots for it, but that was 30-odd years ago, so I'm sure there are more treatments available now. I hope it can be resolved for you quickly and doesn't adversely affect baby girl's growth.

Wantsababy - I'm jealous of your trip I've also wanted to go to Atlantis. Hope you guys have a wonderful time!

Sheepie and Cali - how are you girls feeling? Getting so close, now!

Had to go attend to a diaper change and midnight snack.

But wanted to come back to add, Evyn, yes, no question, once you get your little one, it's all worth it. Not just labor, but all the discomforts of pregnancy (though I never had m/s as you suffered with it), everything. In fact, it's soo worth it, that even thinking about that question makes me laugh now. It's like, once I saw DD, I thought, "if I'd known it was YOU in there the whole time making me so uncomfortable, I wouldn't have minded." I know that probably doesn't make sense. I'm still chock full o hormones and gushy. My birth experience was fine because I didn't have a lot of set expectations going in and at the end I was given this perfect gift of a little girl. Even having some tearing and laying there, legs propped up in stirrups while the doctor sewed me up (nurses coming and going and attending to DD all the while), I couldn't have cared less. All I could do was crane my neck and ask DH about our daughter. I kind of knew that actually having my baby would change my perspective on things, but I wasn't prepared for this . . . entire paradigm shift. NOTHING else is as important or wonderful as she is. Well, DH is right up there. But he and DD are my whole world. To sum up in a suitably mushy way -- it kind of feels like, you know at the end of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" where the Grinch's heart, which was 2 sizes too small, grew three sizes that day? When Evie was born it's like my heart just grew, more than I ever knew it needed to. And she filled it with such amazing love and joy, it's hard to think about any discomfort at all.

Heidi---the whole weight gain thing confuses me. I know you are having twins, but 8 lbs seems like good weight gain at this point. Im only having one of course, and at my 16 week appointment I only gained 2 lbs TOTAL for my whole pregnancy. THEN I was weighed yesterday and Ive lost another lb. My OB doesn't seem at all concerned though. I just wonder why its okay for one to gain, and another to not gain and them not be concerned. Im really afraid Im just going to EXPLODE one day! Im going to wake up and there is going to be a basketball there *lol*

Cali----Im going to be delaying vax. I just do NOT like the idea of so many chemicals going into a child in such a short amount of time. I think I read that the amount of them have more than doubled since we were babies.

Refrain, I hope you get the anemia thing cleared up--Im sure thats scary.

Evyn--i'm not sure, but i think when you are having multiples you have to gain most of your weight early because towards the end of the pregnancy you have two or three babies squishing your stomach so it's hard to eat a lot. multiple/twin mommies correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what i've understood.

Refrain--i'm sorry that your anemia is still unresolved, i hope you get some answers soon.

Jen--i love reading your posts about Evie, i can't wait to experience those emotions myself.

Flow--Congrats! i can't wait to hear all about your birth and see pics of Kaleb.

ok that's all i can remember, i hope everyone's having a great day! i have my first regular OB appointment on Monday, so i'll keep you all updated.

My doctor's appointment went very well yesterday. My RE told me that it was "graduation day" and I am being released to my OB/GYN. Yeah! During the ultrasound our Little Bean was super active. Little Bean wouldn't even hardly stay still for his/her picture to be taken. He/she was doing flips, bouncing of my uterus, etc. The Doc said he didn't think he had ever seen a baby so active at this stage. His other comment was, "Wow, this is a BIG baby." Hmmm. . .I wonder what that is going to mean for me in another 6 months. I sort of figured it might happen since I was 9lb 10oz and my brother was 10lb 1oz. I guess my maternal grandmother was 11lbs. Yikes!!!

I'll try to post the ultrasound pics tonight. However, I'm not very good with that. Hopefully, it will work!

Jen - That is so sweet! I teared up at your message! I can not wait to hold my little girls in my arms now. I am fine though, thanks for asking. I'm loving being at home, resting and just nesting. I am slowly getting everything in it's place and hoping I have at least another 4 weeks of this. My next ultrasound and doctors apt is next Tues. and Wed and I can not wait to see my little girls agian.

shellsbells, evyn, hsuter - As far as the weight gain thing, I really believe every doctor is different like every pregnancy is diffrent. I've only gained 25 lbs as of my 29th week, and my doctors all seem to be fine with it. The total weight gain for twins should be 35-45 lbs. My doctor told me as long as the babies are growing fine, we are good, and so far they are. They tells this by the many ultrasounds and growth of my belly, which is still 5-6 weeks ahead of a normal singleton. My last doctor said I've made it to 29 weeks w/ the correct amount of weight gain and I should put on another 10 lbs before the babies come, so I'm right on schedule. He said he was actually impressed I've not ballooned up, I figure it's the PCOS and the fact I eat a balanced diet (plus the occational Whooper!).

bobbysgirl - Yah! Graduation day! Congrates! I am so excited to hear your little bean was so active, good signs! I hope your baby isn't 9-11 lbs though, that sounds...well just yikes!!!!

Hey ladies,

Aturn-I think your right...everyone is different. My Dr said that since I actually started pregnancy underweight I might need to gain more. I'm doing everything I can...I eat when I'm hungry I try not to eat lots of low calorie foods and what not, I just cant seem to gain, lol. Lots of people would love to have this problem...cant gain weight! Oh well, I'm sure it will work out and our babies are both growing very well...at our last appt they actually measured about 4 days ahead, so thats all I'm worried about.

Bobbysgirl-thats great!!! It does sound like you might have a bigger baby :-). Isnt so fun to see them squirm around...our little beans are both very active as well, it definately enthralls the nurses when they try to find the hb's and the u/s teach thinks its fun as well.

Shell-GL Monday!

Evyn-I too am still confused by the whole weight gain thing. As far as I'm concerned my babies are growing just fine and thats all that matters! And about waking up one morning with a basketball there, lol, I kinda feel like that once a week...my belly just keeps getting bigger!

Jen-awww, I loved reading your post!

Regarding the weight gain thing-dh just brought me home a hungry man dinner...which is 1lb of food and almost 1,000 calories. He told me "here, now you just need to eat about 40 more of those"

Happy Friday, hope everyone has a good weekend!
