Shell - thanks for the new thread! LOL I got such a laugh out of your last post.

Marking my spot - back later with a real update. But in the mean time, can I just say UGH!! about heartburn. I am so sick of Tums right now. Oh, and that reminds me - I've had a sore throat for 2+ weeks. No other symptoms of a cold, just a dry and very sore throat, particularly at the end of the day. Do you think heartburn is causing it? Some other pregnancy related issue? Just a virus? I can't figure it out and it's driving me nuts!

Thirteen - Sorry to hear about the heartburn. My mom had three kids and only had heartburn with one of them (really bad), I wonder why it happens. I have a very sore throat today but no heartburn though. Hope you feel better.

2 more days until the big ultrasound!! I'm super excited but also really nervous. DH wants to pay to have the 3D ultrasound, I'm still deciding if I want to do that. Just this week I broke out into a pizza face, I don't even want to leave my house cause my skin is so bad. Someone heeelp! I started on proactiv again, hope it helps.

Also, TMI, is anyone else as constipated as I am??

Heidi - at our clinic you're not allowed to eat a single thing before you have your GTT. I'm not looking forward to that!

We had our BIG ultrasound yesterday afternoon. However, we did not find out the gender of the baby. DH was watching the technician the whole time and said that he did not see a "teenie weenie peenie". DH is convinced that it is a girl, but he's not a doctor, except in his own mind! (HA)

Anyway the baby is 100% healthy; heart and measurements all look good. The technician asked me when my due date was and if I was certain about it. I told her that yes, I was pretty certain because we had done fertility treatments and we had a two day window to work with. Anyway, the baby is measuring one week ahead and is in the 84th percentile on all measurements. The doc even said, "You've got a big kid in there!" *Sigh* I told you ladies I was anticipating a whopper of a child!

Bobbysgirl--bummer on not learning the gender!! Will they try again later?

Amy---ugh. Constipation has been my WORST enemy during this pregnancy....mine has been just awful. My OBGYN finally gave me a medicine called Kristalose and it worked wonders. Its a powder you mix into water or juice and it basically makes you go. Before she gave me that I had tried everything..prunes, walking more, more water, fiber, etc. It seems to have gotten a LOT better now though, thank goodness.

Actually, DH and I did not want to know the gender and told the technician that upfront. However, even though DH was adament that he didn't want to know, he kept trying to guess and give his "expert opinion". I finally looked at him and said, "Do you want to know or not??" (hee, hee) He's silly.

Our baby wasn't very cooperative about getting his/her picture taken either. His/her head was really buried and tucked under and the tech had trouble getting measurements. Plus the baby decided to lay almost on his/her side and facing my back. So, we have a few profile shots, but they are not as good as I had hoped.

Bobbysgirl- Congrats on a great u/s!! Isn't it so awesome and a relief to know that our babies are healthy!! I wouldn't worry too much about the size of your baby. My baby was measuring 5 days ahead and the dr. said that it is normal after the 1st trimester for the baby to measure a few days ahead or behind which is why they set the due date in the 1st trimester and my dr. won't change it regardless of the baby's size. However if both you and your dh were big babies there is a good chance you will have a big baby. Dh and I were both around 9lb6oz so it will be interesting to see how big our baby is.

Rose- How exciting, only a few more days until your big u/s!!

Leafy- Let us know how your u/s goes on Thursday! I hope you have fun on your vacation!

Babyhopes- Have you had an u/s yet? I hope you have/had fun on your vacation! Dh and I went to the Atlantis in the Bahamas in April and I'm already ready for another vacation.

Evyn- I'll have to remember not to eat anything the morning of my GTT. Thanks for the tip!

Wantsababy-- I do not go to the dr until the 15th! It is a long wait, but since I was not seeing a specialist, they wait until 7-8 weeks! So, from what I understand, I will have my first u/s on that day. I am very excited, I just wish it was sooner since my symptoms come and go. I am still really wanting that professional confirmation!

Did I read that you are having a boy? I tried to catch up, but it can be so difficult! If that was you, congrats! It must be so exciting to finally know!
