Amber – Thanks for the tip on bringing a snack to the 3hr!

Amy – I caught the shopping bug around 20w when I was pg with DS too. It’s fun, isn’t it? I love the crib & dresser, btw. One piece of advice that several moms on my birth month thread learned the hard way… Put the crib together INSIDE the nursery. Sometimes they don’t fit thru the doorway and you have to take it all apart and start over.

Evyn – My belly wasn’t saggy or stretch marked and I popped back to my pre-pg size within 8 weeks. The only thing that was really different was if I sucked in you could tell the skin wasn’t quite as taught as it used to be. But just standing normally it looked fine. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting back to your old size. Great belly pic, btw! Oh, and good luck with the rest of the move!

Wantsababy – I love your belly pic too! I want to post one, but so far I’ve been really unhappy with the pics DH takes. He’s oblivious when it comes to that stuff. Sounds like you’re having BH. I started getting them around 20w this time. It feels like a tightening in your belly. It’s a little weird at this point and then as you get bigger the feeling isn’t quite as strange. I notice mine a lot when I bump into something or if we drive over a big bump. Good luck at your appt on Thurs!

Leafy – Congrats on graduating from the RE! Glad to hear the appt went well.

Heidi – Awesome deal on the free PIS. I have a medela and love it!

Thanks, everyone, for your GD/GTT advice and support. I don’t know why, but I just have this feeling I might fail the 3hr. I really hope I do ok. I keep wondering if it’s because I’ve been indulging in more sweets than last time. Last time I was still cautious about sugar intake and how it would affect my PCOS. (I am slightly IR and I control PCOS by watching my simple carbs and keeping up with healthy proteins.) But by the end of the last pg I realized I didn’t feel crappy when I ate sweets like I usually do, so this time around I’ve been enjoying them all along. Maybe I should be more cautious… But then I wonder if I cut back now is it going to screw up my 3hr? Or is it worse to keep eating sweets before the 3hr? I have no idea what I’m doing!

I also talked to the dr about my muscle exhaustion and he's concerned about my postassium too. I'm going nuts on bananas this week hoping to get my levels up. I also found out that potatoes and raisins are good sources of potassium, which I’m happy to eat more of as well. I definitely still felt the tried muscles today, but I'm hoping the diet changes do their job and I start feeling better soon.

Ok, enough from me – I’m ready for bed. Thanks again for all your advice, ladies. You’re the best!

Thats how mine feel----I get them every time I pee! Sounds weird, but every time I pee my entire belly tightens up and gets hard. I also have another type of contractions---that feel like AF like cramps. Not sure if that is still BH contractions or the real thing though. I think I started getting the BH ones around 23-24 weeks.

Hi Girls! I know that I have not posted much recently, but I have been reading and keeping up with you! So much is happening! The belly pics and the baby rooms are really cute, and I do love seeing them! What is the purpose of a GTT? Does everyone have to do it? It sounds terrible, and I hate to fail!

AFM- I guess things have been a bit touch and go lately! After I had my great appointment last Tuesday, the spotting continued. It got worse to the point where I almost took myslef to the ER on Saturday morning. Anyway, after a lot of panic, I saw the doctor again on Monday, and thigs still appear to be OK with baby. However, the spotting is not normal. So, I am taking a progesterone supplement to see if that stops the spotting. So , bottom line, I am taking it easy and trying not to stress!

Hi girls!

Glad to hear that most of you are feeling pretty well. I can't believe how far along some of you are getting. I can't wait to see pictures of the new little ones! It's funny how SLOW pregnancy weeks seem to be, but how fast the weeks go by once the baby is here. DD is over 7 weeks now...where did the time go?

I wanted to throw my experiences in on the weight gain and the GTT...

I failed my 1 hour test by a few points so I had to take the 3 hour. I passed with flying colors. Other than the fasting that I was supposed to do before the 3 hour, I didn't change my diet at all. I didn't want to 'cheat' and pass that way. I figured, if I had GD, I wanted to know and would rather fail and treat it. Luckily I didn't have to worry about it and could continue eating my cookies

Speaking of cookies...my weight gain. As of my last appt, which was almost a week before my c section, I had gained exactly 30 pounds. I'm pretty sure I put on another pound or two in that last week too. I still have about 10 pounds to lose and I'm 7 weeks PP. The first 2 weeks I lost like 20 pounds instantly, but the rest has been SLOWLY coming off. I'm at 122 now and would like to get to 111. I'm usually a big exerciser and I can't right now since I have no one to watch DD and it's too hot to do much outside, so I think that's stopping me from losing more. So what I've been told is that I 'look good' for just having had a baby, but I feel like I should be back to normal by this point, but people point out that it took 9 months to gain the weight...

It's getting worrisome, though, because I go back to work in a month and I'm afraid I won't have anything to wear!

Sheepie - that's pretty great that you've already lost 20 pounds, I think it's pretty rare to lose it all right away. I wonder about that though, I'm going be eager to exercise after I give birth but I won't be able to jog with a newborn in the dead of winter and there's no one to watch him.
That's tough.

Babyhopes - glad to hear you're on progesterone, sorry it's been stressful for you

Thirteen - I've been having some muscle exhaustion too, and bad muscle cramps. Last night my calf muscle rolled up into a ball and I literally screamed. I need to get some minerals in me, asap. I'm scared about the
GTT too, I've been eating a lot of sweets, I've been craving them which I never do when I'm not pregnant so this is new to me. I hope you do ok.
What happens if you fail the second test?

David Beckham is at our hospital right now (where I work) visiting the oncology patients and I'm smitten! I need to do some more stalking and catch a glimpse

Amy-Beckham?! Thats so awesome...I'm a big soccer fan. Do you have a camera?lol

Sheepie-I cant believe your dd is over 7 weeks! I think your doing great with the weight loss so far!!

Babyhopes-I hope the progesterone helps with the spotting; keep us updated! Everyone does have to do the GTT it just tests your ability to process sugar I think? I dont really understand it, hopefully someone else can explain it better.

Evyn-I get bh when I pee first thing in the morning or in the middle of the night when my bladder is really fully.

As for the weight loss thing-Im pretty sure I will lose atleast half of my weight before I leave the hospital and I've heard from a lot of other twin moms that you lose just about all but 5 or 10lbs within the first month or so. I'm planning on breastfeeding, or attempting to so that will help as well.

Has anyone else craved like coke or pepsi? I havent had caffeinated pop since my first trimester but I gave in today and had a cherry coke...it was so delicious!

babyhopes--I hope your spotting stops ASAP. Sorry you've been going through a hard time. What kind of progesterone supplement did your doctor give you? I've been on supplements since the IVF, though my RE said to stop everything cold turkey this Friday night. I'm hoping my hormone levels don't plummet and lead to problems.

heidi--I hope you're right about twin mommies losing the weight quickly after delivery. Maybe it's because they don't have time to eat anything!
