So I forget how freaky us pregnant women can be. I went to dinner tonight with some girlfriends and one of my friends asked if she could put her hand on my belly and feel one of the babies. I said sure! (b/c I had just eaten and they were wigglin' all over the place). She slowly put her hand on my stomach and in about 3 seconds my son gave a powerful kick and rolled a little. She screamed in the middle of the restaurant and yanked her hand away saying HOLY SH*T!!!! We all laughed. After that other girls were to freaked out to touch my belly. I imagine it is pretty creepy if you've never seen or felt that before

Refrain...Cute story! I had a guy friend who put his hand on my belly while I was laughing. He started freaking out and was so excited saying he felt something but I think it was just a response to me laughing. I didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't the baby. lol

Refrain- That's so awesome! I used to love feeling my niece kick in my SIL.. I can't wait to feel my lil one kick! I can't even imagine...

I had a co-worker feel my tummy then immediatly yelp "I felt something!!" I was like "Um...no...don't think so." He was like 'yeah, Im sure I did!' I didn't argue, but *I* didn't feel anything, so how could he?!

caligirl - Opps, sorry, I guess I was confused. I think we have decieded on names (although, things may change w/ the middle names) Baby A is Isabelle Nichole and Baby B is Alexa Renee. They flow and are cute, well, at least DH and I think so.

Refrain - That's a cute story, friends can be so weird. I figure it is odd to feel if you haven't experienced it before. DH kinda was freaked out at first when they started to move, but now he loves it and leaves his hand on my belly at night when we are watching TV so he can feel them move.

Evyn - Sorry about the crappy ultrasound. Thats really disappointing. I agree w/ Refrain though that RN was totally rude and I would have just stared at her w/ daggers and if my point was gotten across I would have called her out and told her that she shouldnt say rude things to patients.

My apt went great. They got a new machine to monitor the heartbeats in the office and it has a twin option on it so I had like 4 girls in the room with me trying to figure out how to work the new machine! But they got it all set up and I sat listening to their movements and heartbeats for 15 mins. I think Alexa kept kicking Isabelle b/c she'd move then Isabelle's heartbeat would start racing for a few seconds then settle back down. I'm tell you that Alexa is rough! But the ultrasound was great, they are stuffed in there. Alexa weighs 4 lbs 7 ozs and Isabelle weights 4 lbs 4 oz! They are getting so big! I just know now that they are both past that 4 lb mark, when I have them they are going to come home with me after the delievery! (It was my big fear that I'd have to leave one or both of them at the hospital). So that's my good news!

Evyn: Wow, I would have been really offended and ticked at the comments by the nurse. I agree with Refrain. . .next time get out the daggers.

Autrn: Glad that your appointment went well and the girls are gaining weight. It sounds like Isabelle is gonna have to learn to defend herself from Alexa (LOL).

Refrain: I like your advice to Evyn. Did the whole restaurant look at your table when your friend yelled out? Too funny!

Aturn--yeah for the good appt! Wow, If my ONE baby is 4 pounds 6 ounces and I feel stuffed, I can't imagine having 2 of them in there. Crazy! That's awesome that they're that big!

Refrain--that's funny about your friends. I work with a bunch of young people (they joke that once you hit 30 you have to leave the company!) and so lots of them haven't had kids or had friends yet be pg, so a few asked to touch my belly and they are always amazed at how HARD it is. I'm like, it's not cheeseburgers in here...they just assumed it'd be squishy like a fat belly!

So I go to another forum to discuss my dog and I gave an update on me and the baby and mentioned that she's breech and a few of the options that go along with that. It's amazing the 'opinions' I've gotten from people on what to do. I mentioned that I would rather not have a c-section but would if that was the better choice--and a woman wrote to me saying that I really should do what the doctor thinks is best and that c-sections aren't that bad, etc. I'm thinking, well of course I'm going to do what the doctor suggests! Sheesh. Everyone's an expert!

Aturn-that is SO cool...I hope my OBs office has one of those! I could sit and listen to them all day,lol! And congrats on them both being over 4lbs!!

Not much to report here...last night I started leaking from my right boob, freaked me out at first. I didnt have a bra on and was wearing a fairly thing worn out shirt and felt a wet spot all of a sudden. Anyone else have this?
We are thinking of going to a prenatal class tomorrow...although I'm almost 17 weeks, is this a little late for a prenatal class?

hsuter-sorry about your leaky boob. I never had a "wet leak" I just get dried up crumbly scabby whitish stuff on them that i have to wash out in the shower.
Don't know what to tell ya about the class, depends what they're teaching I guess. I didn't do any prenatal classes, just read stuff. Right now I'm in the middle of doing all the breast feeding and breast feeding multiples classes. It all just seems so easy, yet I know its going to be SO hard (at first).

Sheepie-just tell them your dog is going to pull her out by her foot while the cat jumps on your stomach.

oh and my mom is coming in today to "help" me get things ready for the babies. And by help she means getting some time away from my dad and dragging me from one end of town to the other while she shops for stuff for herself. Its going to be a looooooong weekend.

Refrain – Thanks for the new May thread! That story about your friend screaming in the restaurant is really funny. Sorry to hear your mom is going to be dragging you all over town this weekend. Hope you can talk her into picking up a few things for the babies.

Evyn – Sorry you had a crappy u/s and the nurse talked down to you. That’s so unprofessional!

Aturnbg – Glad your appt went well! That new machine sounds very cool! It’s great that they’ve both hit the 4lb mark and you don’t have to worry about leaving them at the hospital when they arrive.

Sheepie – LOL at your coworkers being surprised your belly is so hard! I love all the funny questions & comments you get from people who aren’t used to being around pg women. I’m really amazed at all the opinions you’re getting! I hope the baby turns around before you go into labor, if she hasn’t already. Not to give you even more unwanted advice, but has anyone told you about Spinning Babies? I used it when DS was anterior (head down but facing forward instead of backward) and it definitely helped.

Hsuter – My boob leaked for the first time at something like 36 weeks. It’s not unusual for them to leak earlier in pregnancy though. As for the prenatal class, in my area they tell you to sign up for the class that starts during your 7th month, so I'd say no you’re definitely not too late – even if you’re expecting an earlier delivery with the twins.

I really like everyone’s names so far. We have absolutely no idea what we’re naming this one. Though we still have lots of time. Last time we never decided on a girl’s name (even though we didn’t know what we were having), so we’re basically at square one regardless of whether it’s a boy or a girl this time. Personally, I find naming babies to be kind of overwhelming. DH and I both want the name to have some meaning and we don’t tend to like the same kind of names, so it makes it really tough.

My belly is definitely popping out now. I looked at my 17w pics from last time and I’m at least that big already at 14w. Yikes! But last time around I weighed 4 lbs more at this time than I do now. I’m trying to use that to cheer myself up, but I’m not really sure it’s working. Definitely time to bust out the “Does this baby make me look fat” tshirt.

This weekend we have a bunch of birthdays to go to. My nephew’s bday party is tonight. My sister and I got together last night and made him a treasure chest bday cake to go with his Pirates of the Caribbean bday theme. It turned out really cute. Tomorrow a friend’s DD is having her first bday party. And on Sunday we’re going to my dad’s for a rescheduled Easter Egg Hunt (don’t ask) and my step mom’s bday. It’s going to be a weekend packed with birthday cake, that’s for sure!
