Sorry I didnt post much over the weekend. We went to Michigan to visit my sister. It was nice to see some family; we went baby shopping and bought lots of clothes...a good time was had by all :-).
So, this morning I woke up around 3:30 and had this terrible back pain, but only on my right side...and also had some pain around my ribs, like one of the babies was up there. Any thoughts?

hsuter-welcome to the random pain of pregnancy. I have had and awful pain under my right ribs since about week 26. It varies from an irritating feeling, a sore feeling, to a stinging feeling or to a knife in my ribs feeling. I consulted everyone I knew and sadly, the only answer I ever got was 1. one of the babies is up under there applying pressure or 2. your bra line is irritating that area.
Your liver is right under there and the more the little ones kick on it, the more it hurts so...who knows. Its nothing serious unless it is unbearable, then go check your blood pressure, if its above 140/90, get to the doc soon.
Codi-I'm sure it will all be good in about 4 weeks, when they can start measuring things more accurately, it's all a guessing game really. Problems arise when they don't grow at all from visit to visit. Thats scary.
I don't wanna be pregnant anymore! I want to play with my babies! Last night was a bad night. My poor DH. Whatever side I slept on pissed one of the kids off and they would start kicking and punching. Then, during one of my 10 trips to the bathroom I couldn't get out of bed. I seriously looked like a turtle on its back. I just rocked back and forth attempting to get up. When I finally was able to roll over to my right side, I had awful sharp pains on my right side, like my son was really a porcupine in there. I finally got out of bed, but couldn't get back to sleep b/c of the lingering pain from rolling to the right. Wonder what I did? its still kind of sore this morning.

Their in the 24th percentile now, my DH said he thinks it's all a guessing game and it depends on who's doing the measuring. I was having contractions every 5 mins though, so I am back taking the awful drug to stop them. Although they are not working that great b/c I am still getting contractions every now and then.
Refain - LOL!!!! You and me both. I'm a turtle to at night trying to get up for the 8th time to visit the bathroom. If I wasn't in so much pain I would find it funny. Thank God DH doesn't laugh at me when I try to get up, I think I would cry at this point if he did. He is rubbing my back every night and he is being my rock right now.
Hsuter - Sounds like the random pains of pregnancy to me to! I'm sorry sweetie, but it's going to be around for awhile. Try to just make the best of things and move to a comfy position.
codi - I'm sure it will be fine. You are doing what is best by eatting lots of protein and also resting.
Nothing new to report. I am having break through contractions despite the drug I'm on. I called the doctor and left a message, so I'm not sure if they are going to want me to continue this drug. The babies are moving alot today to! I am not sure if they like this drug.

My Mood: Points: 26,770.31 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 26,770.31 | Codi--like all the others said, try not to worry! (as if that's possible!). But it's true, measurements can be off a lot, especially early on. I'm sure you'll be okay.
Aturn--Sorry no babies yet! And wow--a 42 week pg woman! No thanks! I'm always getting comments on how small I am, and I am getting miserable, just waddling around, so I can't even imagine being actually big! Hang in there. It'll be over soon!
Heidi--your pain sounds like a period of pain I had, I think maybe around your time, maybe further along--it's all a blur now, lol. Mine was gas. It hurt so bad I thought there was no way it could just be gas. But it was. I was ready to go to the ER, but hubby did his little mini medical work up and ruled out a bunch of stuff. Whatever it is, I hope yours goes away! And yeah for a good time with family!
Oh, and I'm totally a turtle trying to turn over too. Although last night I was scared I broke my baby. My cat had peed on the bed the night before so I was trying to keep him off the bed whenever I happened to wake up. Well, I saw him sitting funny at the end of the bed and I sprang up to shoo him off and I swear I crushed my child. And I'm sore from it today, but she's moving around, so I guess she's okay!
So...it's official...bebe will be here 2 weeks from today! June 3! (Unless of course she has other plans and wants to come even earlier) But the OR is booked...um, scary!

Good for me though b/c I was coming after work and it let me be there when she got out. But you never know, I'm sure you'll be in and out w/ your baby on time.
Refrian - As of last Thursday my cervix had soften and flattened out but no dilation. I have my next apt on Thursday, so we'll see if there is any change.
I got a call back from the doctors office and you girls are not going to believe what they told me!!!! The nurse called me back and said that the doctors have agreed that if I am ready then I can stop taking the drug and we can just let nature take it course with labor! Or I can continue taking the drug until Thursday's apt to keep the contractions at bay. They consider me full term and are fine with the babies both being at 5 lbs and if they come it's ok. I'm kinda freaked out though! What do you think? I told them I was concerned with lung maturity and weight, and they told me that they are fine weight wise and that their lungs should be mature at this point. It's just all happening very fast now.

Some nights when I roll over, I just imagine this little baby inside of me getting smothered to death b/c the other one is on top of them or I've pinched the cord etc.
Too bad our bellies don't have a little window we could peek into now and again just to see them give us the thumbs up that they're ok.

There would be a part of me that would want to stop taking the drug and let nature take its course...but the other part of me would want more control than that. Meaning, what if the natural way causes contractions, but nothing happens (no water breaking etc), how would I know when to go to the hospital? At least with Drs control, they can "start" your labor and follow it properly. Oh what a decision!

Aturn...On my DD thread someone just gave birth to twins and they had no NICU time. I want to say she was around 36 weeks (Sheepie do you remember?) They are under 5 and doing awesome. They actually went home with their mom. I personally would let nature takes it's course but whatever you feel should happen is the best. It's funny how we are so ready to have these babies until we have the option and it's like, maybe a little longer won't hurt. lol
Sheepie...Congrats on the C/S date. I wish our LO's weren't so stubborn but they will be perfect no matter how they come out. Only 1 day apart. I wish you the best!
Codi...Sounds like everyone else has good advice. It is pretty early to get an accurate measurement so try your best to just believe in your baby. Great ultrasounds!
Jen....Your little girl is just perfect. She is so beautiful!! Makes me so excited to see my LO. I am glad everything is going well.
Not much new here. I am working 1/2 days at work and 1/2 days at home now which is so nice. Then next week I am taking off Friday and I deliver that Monday. I wasn't nervous about the surgery but now I am getting there. It's just so unreal still that I will be having a real live baby. lol Crazy!!

My big fear is that I won't know when to go to the hospital, but I think after having two run throughs with contractions I may be able to figure it out. Although I have the bad dreams of having my twins on the floor of my bathroom b/c I'm to stupid to realize it's time.
I am thinking I am going to stop taking the drug though and let it happen. I've googled info on the internet and found out that doctors offices will not stop step in and stop labor after 36 weeks, which explains why they do not care if I continue w/ the drug or not.
DH is freaked out though and was like, "well, maybe you should take the drug until your apt. Thursday". But the drug makes me shakey, nervous and my heart races on it. I do not like taking it and it makes me nervous about the effects it has on the babies. DH said he was fine with what ever I want, but it made me upset that he was like that.

Auturn- I agree with the other ladies that I would stop the drug and let your body naturally take over. This may be the babies way of saying they want out. I know several ladies who had their babies a month early and the babies are perfectly healthy. They didn’t take any drugs to speed up the lung maturity or anything.
Codi- At my first few dr. appt.’s the dr. could not tell me exactly how far along I was but just within a week. It sounds like as long as the baby is growing there is nothing to worry about. When is your next appt?
So you mean my sleeping is only going to get worse!?!? I need my sleep and I have a feeling I will have to soon adjust to 4-6 hours of sleep a night.
