Default Thin, Non-IR Cyster being prescribed Met

Im back reading on this forum about met so if I'm being repetitive my apologies.

I've finally seen an RE & got the official diagnosis (through ultrasound & bloodwork).

Im not IR but I do have high cholesterol, elevated dhea/androgen and high LH compared to FSH?

We are TTC. My RE took more blood tests & wants to see what happens. Depending on my cycle or lack of, she said she will probably prescribe me with Metformin in a month. She said it can be helpful for those that are non-ir as well?

Feedback/thoughts/advice much appreciated!

There have been times that for cysters who are non IR, metformin can help to nudge those hormones in the right direction to help fertility. Different studies say different things, but some of us have had luck with a little met in the mix if you are ttc.

I'm in the same boat as you! I'm thin and not IR, and I've been on met for three months and off the pill for one. It hasn't worked yet, but I'm hoping it will soon! Good luck!

I am in the same situation. I am thin and not IR, but like you have high cholesterol and whacked out LH to FSH ratio. I also have cysts and no AF. I have been off the pill for 9 mos and on Met for 3 mos. I had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago and unfortunately, it has not yet done anything for me. My RE is asking that I stay on it for 6 mos to see. I may be a pessimist, but I am not expecting it to help.
