I haven't seen any threads for "thin" PCOsers.....So I thought maybe I created one thread so we can share experience....I always was wondering if I lose a little bit weight will help me to conceive easier or can have AF regularly?! Have anyone not overweight but lose some weight feel better?! I'm not so slim but not yet overweight. I am about 62'' (1.58m) and 114lb (52kgs)...I don't know if I converted correctly LOL...
I hope to see "thin" PCOSers joining this thread!
See you all!
Jen
I'm in the same boat as you. I am 64" and 127lbs. I was low-carbing and got down to 130lbs when I conceived DS. I do think the low carbing helped me conceive on my first clomid cycle. Hoping to lose a few more lbs before conceiving #2 since I gained 50lbs while pg with DS. Even if you don't want to lose any/much weight, I have found low-carbing/eating healthier carbs to be beneficial to getting a normal cycle.

Hello, another thin cyster here! I'm 5'1'' and 110 pounds. Right now I'm on Yasmin to regulate my periods and my husband and I are discussing our conception options. My sister offered to be a surrogate (my husband has infertility issues, too) and we have heard wonderful adoption stories. For now, we're just enjoying being together.
It would be interesting to know if loosing a coule pounds will help us at all. I've never been overweight and have had very irregular cycles since a teenager. Same for my sister. So my guess is that loosing weight probably will not help (although I think gaining weight might very well make the problem worse....)
Anyway, one thing I noticed, is that before I took Metformin I'd often get a bunch of OPKs that were close to being positive all month long (and my LH was high when my doctor measured it.) But after I started the Metformin the OPKs were clearly negative all month, except for the LH surge, which showed up very nicely. I have absolutely no reason to think I'm IR, but at the same time I'm convinced that the Metformin helped balance my hormones and allowed me to ovulate much better.
After two miscarriages (probably due to poor egg quality) I am pregnant again, taking Metformin alone. My RE has been monitoring me closely, and everything looks great.
Good luck and baby dust to everyone!!!

I dont know what constitutes as being thin but since my Dr's are trying to get me to gain weight, I must be to thin. Right now I'm 6'0 (72") and weigh in at 152-154. I feel good, look reasonbably good but have been losing weight instead of gaining.

I am 5ft 4" and am at my heaviest ever at about 118 pounds.
I weighed less than 110 pounds when I cc DD (now 5.5 yo). I don't think being thin helps necessarily and you don't want to lose too much weight and be unhelathy but obviously weight gain is not helpful.
I am new here so still feeling my way.
I do agree the low-carb plan does help regulate, and make you feel better anyway.
I'm 5'5'' and 130 lbs, not ttc, not on any meds. It feels hard to find anyone in same position here as I am.
My most severe symptoms are irregular cycles (26-150+) and I have got some more hair since coming off the Pill in 2002. I ovulate in most of my cycles, but fairly late (cd 20-60, av. 45). I've tried out acupuncture to regulate my cycles but didn't have actually any luck with it. Next cycle I'm planning to try soy to ovulate earlier.
Well, I guess I just wanted to say "hi!" and introduce myself.
