I'm pretty sure i could be considered a "thin cyster". My bmi is kind of high [24.8] but im still a size 6 and very in shape.
I was wondering if anyone has any advice about dealing with the swollen/poochy tummy. Do avoiding certain foods or anything like that help?
Or is it just sort of an inevitable pcos thing?
Thanks

meds: yasmin. prozac 20mg.
four months of lupron. its not as bad as everyone says.
diet: strict vegetarian. eat organic as much as possible. avoid dairy. unsuccessfully try to avoid carbs.
I have the same problem, my grandmother said I looked pregnant! A good friend of mine also asked me what the belly was about, because in college I had a flat stomach although I was pretty much the same size/weight, all I could tell her was that I couldn't get rid of it. I've gotten used to it, but it would be nice to find out if there is something I could do to deflate this thing.

me too.. no matter how skinny i am.. the belly wont go away.. its very embarrasing... it makes me look very disproportionate.. my face is really skinny with my collar bones sticking out.. n looking at the belly it looks like i have a spare tyre.. ive been told a low carb diet helps.. but im addicted to carbs i can imagine living without em.. but i cant live with the pooch either.. damn u PCOS!!
I have the same problem too. I have always been thin with a very flat stomach until about 25. (I am 31 now) Then all of the PCOS symptoms started coming on strong. And now everyday, I am looking at this fat around my belly that totally grosses me out. I know low carb diet will help, but like PP, I am addicted to carbs. I was wondering if anyone uses ab lounge or any other type of ab workout and does that help.. I will keep track of this thread cause I would appreciate any advice.

Ladies, You dont know know long I have carried around this "POOCH", it is annoying and puzzling and now it finally makes sense that you girls have it too. This board is like a aha moment for so many of my symptoms. I just went back for my first followup and I wasnt overwt 6 months ago when I was DX, but now I am 109 lbs with a POOCH. The metformin has helped a great deal and all I can say is I will be 95 lbs and still have this! I am going to step up my cadio and see if that helps. I has eaten have always eaten healthy and love my rice though. Lets keep ourselves updated if we find out anything that may help.
