I had an ultrasound and blood work today. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow, but the ultrasound showed that the baby is measuring at 6w2d. There was even a faint heart beat and fetal pole. I wasn't terribly worried until the nurse just called to tell me that my hCG levels only went up slightly since last week. She said that it looks like it is "not a healthy pregnancy." I have to go back on Monday for another ultrasound and labs, but I guess I need to prepare myself for the worst. It is just hard to know this after seeing the heartbeat today.

Thank you all so much for your support. Unfortunately, I did not have good news today. I saw the baby, but there was no heartbeat. They took loads of bloodwork, and are going to call me this afternoon. I haven't had any bleeding or anything, so I suspect that they are going to send me for a D&C. I will take the next few days off from work. This has been very hard.

Thanks very much for the support. I have been having my good moments and bad moments. The doctor wants to see me on Weds. We will decide then if I am going to wait this out, or go ahead with the D & C. The hardest part is that the hCG levels went up a little bit since last Weds. and I saw the poor little baby on the screen today. It looked very peaceful there. I can't get that image out of my mind. I ended up going to the local Hallmark and bought a little angel Christmas tree ornament. I will hang it on my Christmas tree each year and think of my little angel. Sorry if I am getting overly emotional here. Must be the hormones.

im so sorry u have to go through this as i know it isnt easy as i had MC oct.13...we had also seen the heartbeat twice and everything looked fine and i was 12 weeks 3 days!!!

I've been there myself and I'm so sorry you are having to experience such a terrible loss. There isn't anything I can say to make it less painful, but know that one more person is sharing your burden - hopefully that will lighten it just a little.
