Default think I may have had chem pg last month-- feel confused

Hi girls,

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience. Last month I KNOW I O'd because I had midcycle bleeding on exactly CD14. But I took a pg test like two days before I got AF and it was -. The clearblue easy digital that I tore up remember? It said NOT PREGNANT and I thought well that is that. I ripped it apart and there were TWO lines on it-- but one was really REALLY light, almost not there. Then I got AF. What does this mean?

Did I miscarry again? Or can you sometimes have a really faint line and not be pg?

I would NOT be happy to hear I mc'd again. I would prefer to have not been pg.

I don't think it's possible to know for sure at this point. I thought I would share my experience with the digital test I used... I took one and got "negative" but opened to find a second faint line when I was also getting faint second lines on other tests. This happened at about 14dpo, when I then had my five week loss. So my beta eventually did go up to 200 or so and then dropped when I started to m/c at 5 weeks. I don't know if this is helpful, but it's the only experience with digitals I have. That strip looked just like the other faint lines from the same day.

If you would rather it be a bfn, then I would suggest thinking that way, but if there is a nagging feeling otherwise, I'm not sure what to say except that I'm sorry. (((Hugs)))

Just to let you know: digital tests are NOT 2 lines = +. With regular sticks, they have the control line and the hCG line. Not true for digital tests. Check out poas.com for more info and specifics on what each line is measuring.

I read on the digital website that the test is not only looking for HCG but for LH and that its very common to have 2 lines and it be negative. These tests are not the same as a line test! Go to the website of the company that made your test and their explanation for this is there.

Thanks kellie and nerdygirl for that info. It makes me feel a lot better. I'm happy it was probably a bfn (even though I would have preferred a baby...lol)-- I just can't take thinking that I may have m/c two times in a row-- although the truth is, I probably have had many chem pg and just not know it. It's better not to know for me.

I will check the website out.

Then again of course the first poster's experience with digital (sorry I can't see your name as I post b/c of my stupid computer...grrr) tells me that it might be otherwise...that's something that's hard to think about...better if I consider it a bfn and move on. That'll teach me to rip open pregnancy tests.
