Default Thinking about trying soy...have so many questions!

I just had a miscarriage last week at 13w. I conceived twins using Follistim+Ovidrel+IUI. One of the twins vanished at 6w, and the other died from hydrops/heart failure due to parvovirus infection at 13w. I had a D&E 6 days ago. I am still bleeding, but not heavily.

I made an appointment with my RE to get back into treatment on August 12th. Before then, I'd like to see what I can do at home, naturally/semi-naturally. As far as I know, I don't ovulate on my own. I stopped BCP right before my wedding and had no signs of ovulation or AF for 6 months. Then I started Met (2000mg) and had 1 period. After that, I began fertility treatments and only had AF brought on by progesterone or BCP. 50mg Clomid didn't do anything for me. 100mg caused slight growth to one egg, but it also gave me a thin lining and that cycle was a BFN.

I'm thinking I'd like to try a cycle of soy before we head back to the RE. First, I need to have a period. Well, here are all my questions. I would really appreciate any help you can give me.

1. How soon after a miscarriage/D&E can you take BCP or progesterone to bring on a period?
2. If Clomid didn't work for me, is there still a chance soy could work?
3. I know I need to take soy CD3-7, but I've seen so many different opinions on the dosage. Considering 100mg of Clomid just barely worked, and I'm a 213lb woman, what dosage do you think would be appropriate?
4. Are there any serious risks involved that would require me to do this under the supervision of a doctor?
5. You normally use a trigger (Ovidrel) with Clomid, right? So is it possible that without a trigger my eggs could grow and not release?

Ok, those are all my questions for now. Thanks again!!!

I am so very sorry for your loss. *Hugs*

I am a Soy lover! It worked for me in the past (I haven't used it since last summer though as we switched over to IVF treatments). I usually need the trigger shot but did have charts with Soy that showed ovulation on my own. I also used npc along with the Soy, starting at 3dpo when ovulation was confirmed. I think you can have an af induced any time after a d&c but I'm not 100% sure. If you wanted to you could start taking Soy for 5 days anytime you're ready. The very first time I tried Soy I took it cd26-30 to see if I would ovulate and at least get af on my own and it worked! I ovulated on cd32 though and we ended up missing it completely as I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. I guess it's possible I had a follicle growing but it maybe got the extra boost from the Soy. I don't know. I then used it cd3-7 after that and would ovulate between cd12 and cd16. I even did one cycle being monitored by my RE so I could do an IUI and see if it was really working. I went in on cd11 and had a 24mm follicle and my lining was 10mm. I triggered that night and did my IUI on cd13. There is a buddy thread in the TTC Buddies forum I'll get the link for you. Hope this helps and I wish you all the best!

I don't know why that link isn't working, I've tried it twice. The title of the thread is "June Soy Cysters Part 2".
