This is the hardest time of year. The worst is trying to put on a happy face for the rest of the world... if you can't, just don't. They aren't hurting like you are.
I've found it helpful to get a new ornament for Mary Catherine each year. This year's needs a 4 or four of something on it.... can't believe she would be four years old.
Whatever helps, do it, seriously. If crying helps, just to get it all out, then keep playing that sweet song over and over.

Hela-I just had to say when I saw you said Happy Christmas...I knew you weren't from the US (figured UK or Canada)...I enjoyed hearing that. I'm not from either of those, but it reminded me of a movie I saw that was a spin off of Anne of Green Gables, but it was a Christmas movie. I think it was called 'Happy Christmas Miss King'. And thank you for bringing those lines in that song to my attention...I never really listened to the words before. I hope it's a comfort for us all.
Sheri-You're right...putting on that happy face for e/o else is NOT easy. Somehow it seems not only did we lose our children but WE have to be the ones who make e/o else not sad, or not bring them down, too. It's a pretty big responsibility.
Hugs!

you girls are right, it's hard to keep smiling some times but we do it for other people
My cousin is very pregnant, due 25th December.
I gathered my courage and delivered Christmas cards the other day and she was round at my Aunt's house, it was a shock to see her as I've been avoiding her but now I'm glad I have, but even then my aunt had to check with me that I was ok she was there but I smiled my way through it and only cried back at home
DH was very proud of me

Sheri it was fine actually, partly because she looked so uncomfortable
I hope we all cope with the days ahead and our little ones give us the strength to do so.

i too have been thinking of my babies...but you know...i never just think of MY girls...i think of ALL of us who have lost our angels...and somehow i feel comforted knowing we are together in this...and that our babies are together too.
i always buy a set of angels for my girls at Christmas, something to hang on the tree, and often they stay out all year. i'm getting quite a collection. And if my moms dream is any consolation...while my girls are busy tying Jesus' sandal laces together and generally driving the other angels to exasperation...i just know that all our babies are happy. They're happy...if i cant have them here with me...at least i know they are happy.

Merry Christmas Emmanuella. I took out your little box today and looked at all the memories I had from you for the two months that you were with me. I hope a special angel brings you the best present ever. Love Mommy Daddy and Elisa
