Default Thinking of using Soy Isoflavones & would like advice

Hi, I'm new to the board.
My DH & I have only been TTC for 6 months so far, but since stopping the Pill, I've not had a period for that entire time - which means I am not ovulating.

My Drs did a few tests & they seemed inconclusive to me. 2 suggested that my hormones were off & that I had PCOS, 1 test suggested that everything was fine.
Had an ultrasound 2 years ago which showed nothing, but I regularly have ovary pains - which was another thought that I might have PCOS.

I'm a little confused & I got frustrated with my Drs & I went back on the Pill for a month. Turns out the pain of wanting a baby wasn't something that I could just will away.

My Dr has now agreed to refer us to a fertility clinic (the reason for sending us after only 6 months is because of my lack of ovulation after the Pill - 6 months & 4 months before going on it 2 years ago)

I'm scared that they won't help us & have done a lot of reading up on Soy Isoflavones. I want to give it a go, but should I wait to see what the clinic says? It could be up to a month at the earliest before we are seen.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I am just about to start AF now (withdrawal bleed from Pill), tomorrow will probably end up being my CD1. Is it safe to use? Should I hold off & wait for the clinic? Or should I start trying now? (I WANT to start trying now but I'm a little scared)

Also, I live in the UK, I was wondering if anyone else was & where they got their Soy Isoflavones from? I was thinking of going to Holland & Barrett to get them, but wanted to check they would be ok first.

EDIT: I had one more Q. When should OH & I BD?

I just wanted to add that one of the reasons for wanting to start now is that I have an actual cycle start date because of the Pill, if I were to wait a couple more months then I wouldn't. I have read that a few people have started it mid-cycle, I guess I'd have to do that..

The other reason being that I have heard that recent studies have shown that for many women who have shown clomid resistance, going on the Pill for 1-2 months before a cycle can actually aid ovulation. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but it's worth a shot.. Right? Maybe it would have the same effect with Soy Isoflavones. I wish...

I'm curious what others' responses are on this. My situation is similar to yours. My doctor put me back on BCP's in June to regulate my hormones and then wanted me to try this month off and see if I would ovulate on my own before going onto Clomid. Knowing that I had been off the pill years ago without a period for an entire year, I didn't really want to waste a cycle doing nothing to help. So, I tried taking 100mg of soy isoflavone this month CD3-7. I have not ovulated yet and am now on CD 18. So we will see. I have a follow-up with my doctor on the 30th to see where to go from here. Hopefully we get lucky and this works and we don't have to go the med route. I have made a lot of dietary changes that I would have hoped have also helped.

Did you tell your Doctor that you were going to try Soy? I want to try it this cycle but am a little anxious to do so in case the fertility clinic don't take us on. (if it helps & I ovulate & have a period)
OH & I spoke about it last night & agreed to wait until we'd seen the people at the clinic, but like you, I don't want to waste this cycle.
