Default Thinning hair...

I used to have THICK and CURLY hair...those claw clips that are so popular...I used not even be able to fit all my hair into one regular sized one...now I can fit all my hair into a smaller-than-regular size one (uhm...did that make ANY sense?) anyhow, my hair is getting THIN...some of this may be related to my habitual dyeing of my hair...but my mom's been dying he rhair for thirty years, and her hair hasn't thinned that much. Everyday in the shower clumps of hair come out all over my hands when I'm washing my hair and in my hairbrush. I really miss my thick wall of hair...is there any way to get it to grow back after it's been falling out? I am on metformin, so I'mhoping that will help. Does anyone know about this? I'm really worried I'm beginning to go bald, and I'd like to not go bald if possible, and without spending a lot of money if I don't have to.

Default

Considering that you dye a lot, first thing I would do is determine if your hair is falling out or breaking off. Check the hairs and see if there's a bulb/root at the end. If there are lots of hairs that have bulbs, they're falling out at the root. Try to judge your hair by the scalp....if it's breaking off, it will look like there's less there, but it's technically still coming in.

I'm on met also, but it's still too soon to tell if it's going to help my hair grow back.

Default Met could be causing it

If it's recent hair loss (after you started the Met), the Met may be causing it. It's one of the listed side effects.

I'm not on Met, though, and my hair still comes out. I just started using Bumble and Bumble Seaweed shampoo.
