What dosage are you on? When do you take it? I go back to the doctor Wednesday and was looking for some more information to go with the articles I printed out.
I took 30/mg of Actos per day every morning with breakfast. I had none of the side effects I experienced with Met. I was on Avandia before Actos but had to get off of it because it made my kidneys react badly. Good luck on whichever med you choose.

Hi, I'm on 4mg/day Avandia now because Metformin made me throw up. I've been on it since Nov. 15th, and haven't noticed any problems that I could say were associated with taking it. Maybe I'm just thankful that I'm not sick anymore! LOL How did you find out that Avandia was affecting your kidneys? Does your doctor automatically test for it, or was it because you showed signs of a problem? I don't go back to my Dr. until Feb. and I wouldn't want to miss something like that! This board has brought me back to life, I think! LOL All of you are so Great!
JUST STROLLING BY AND SAW YOUR QUESTION ABOUT ACTOS. I AM CURRENTLY ON 45MG x1 DAILY...ALONG WITH 1500 MG METFORMIN. I WAS TAKING THIS BEFORE TTC FOR VERY UNSTABLE BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS...THIS IS MY FIRST ROUND OF CLOMID AND MY R/E THINKS THAT WITH MY DIABETES, THE ACTOS AND MET AND CLOMID ARE A GREAT COMBO......
I CAN SAY TODAY IS CD16 AND I OVULATED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEVERAL MONTHS. I HAD A FOLLICLE STUDY ON MONDAY 12/18 AND THEY COUNTED 3 FOLLICLES!!!!!! I WAS SOOOOOOOO EXCITED...AND THEN THIS MORNING, MY O/MONITOR SAID I WAS AT PEAK....I HAVENT HAD A PEAK READING IN A FEW MONTHS...I GOT SO EXCITED I FELL WHILE I WAS PUMPING MY GAS AND SHATTERED A KNEE CAP!!!!!! NOW I AM LOADED ON VICODIN AND I HAVE TO WEAR THIS STUPID LEG BRACE, BUT ITS NOT GOING TO SLOW ME DOWN!!! LOL OKAY, MAYBE JUST A LITTLE

I am also on 45mgs of Actos. I take it in the morning with breakfast. I am also on 1000mgs of metformin trying to work up to 2000mgs. Since adding Actos, seems like the se from met has somewhat disappeared.
