Question ? for those with early M/C

Question for anyone who had an early M/C

Did you have some/all the "normal" pregnancy symptoms? And do you ususally have PMS?

I'm curious b/c I did not have pregnancy symptoms, and my ob suggested that was a sign my hormones off right from the beginning.

And while I used to get wicked PMS (prior to concieving my son) I now get no PMS at all.

I'm not sure if the two could be linked, but I'm curious if there is anyone out there like me. Any thoughts?

(((((HUGS))))) I'm really sorry about your m/c.

I had two early miscarriages earlier this year. Sometimes I get mild PMS and sometimes nothing at all. With both of my pregnancies I had no symptoms at all. I think there could be something to the idea that if you don't have any symptoms something *could* be wrong since low progesterone would mean less/no symptoms, I think? But then again, there are people who have perfectly fine pregnancies that don't have any side effects (although they do seem rare). My mom said that she never experienced any side effects with any of her six pregnancies and only knew that she was pregnant because she didn't get AF. (I'm hoping I've inherited that.)

I apologize that I can't be of more help.

With my early loss, I did have symptoms like with my first pregnancy. But the night that I started bleeding, I had a huge emotional crash, went to the bathroom, and there was the bad news. I think it's different for each of us. This probably didn't help, but I want you to know that we are still thinking of you and are very sad.
Take care,
Sheri

I had absolutely no symptoms with my first pregnancy as a matter of fact I had been going through fertility testing and had been told by the RE that I probably couldn't get PG without a D&C and some help from him......At the time he told me that, I was already PG but had no idea....I had missed periods in the past so when I missed October then September I didn't even give pregnancy a second thought. It was my mom who made me take a test. All along I was telling her I know I'm not PG! Low and behold it was a BFP.....I missed about 3 days later.....Turned out I have a Luteal phase defect and my body just could not sustain a pregnancy without progesterone supplimentation.....Which I used with both pregnancies after my loss......I used the suppositories with my son until 14 weeks and until 12 weeks with this one......I owe both my children to those suppliments!

I've had symptoms w/ all of my pgs but my symptoms went away so I knew it was over even before the dr told me each time (even though most of the time, I didn't want to believe it).

I've also lost PMS symptoms since 1st getting pg 1 1/2 years ago. Before I would be miserable, have to take Midol, heat pad, etc...now, I don't have any pain at all which is actually pretty nice.

I've been PG twice, my 1st I m/c at 7w4d and had no symptoms. I never tested until I was almost 6 weeks PG because I didn't feel PG. My 2nd PG, I also had no symptoms AT ALL, this one gave me DS. I don't have bad PMS typically.

I really don't buy into "no symptoms means m/c" LOTS of women NEVER have symptoms. You very easily could be one of these women. There are also lots of women that are terribly sick one PG and have no symptoms the next PG or vice versa.

Okay - I found out I was pregnant on 11/14. My beta was only 8 - my doctor said it was a "guarded" pregnancy. I went back in for another beta on 11/16 - and it came back as a 15 - still low but doubling. Then on 11/17 I started bleeding heavily - I went back for an US and more BW - turns out it was a MC. :-(

Anyway - my point to this - even with the early MC (I mean EARLY - I was only 1.5 - 2 wks) I had MAJOR symptoms of pregnancy. Achy breasts, tired all the time, etc.

So - my point is - it is total crap that just because you don't have pg symptoms you will miscarry. I had a lot of symptoms and still had a MC.

Unfortunately - I think everyone is totally different.

Anyway - Lots of Hugs!! I never thought this could hurt so much - even when there is an early loss!

Hang in there - I will be saying a prayer for you!

I'm sorry for your loss. ((((((hugs))))))

With my 1st pg that ended in a loss, I had pretty strong symptoms around week 4 but they started to taper off by week 6 when I had my first u/s. My beta was still high enough to try and maintain the pg with progesterone and we saw improvement at week 7 but the pg stopped growing somewhere between week 7 and 9.

This time around I have had much stronger symptoms starting even before week 4. I did start progesterone 3 days after ovulation and I think that has really helped. We're over 8 weeks now and the 8 week u/s looked great.

As for pms, I've never really had too much.

I wish you all the best and hope you get good news very soon.

Karla

Hello there,
I'm sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel =(
I had a miscarriage at 4 weeks and aside from not having AF I didn't have many symptoms..at least not the ones that i would read over and over that other women had. I read in the majority of posts that sore boobs is a mojor symptom and i didn't get that I even thought to myself.."wow being pregnant is cool because i don't feel sick at all..." Little did i know =( I had major cramping though and just like you i was told it was normal.

Ah! almost forgot ! I do have regular PMS symptoms. I get major cramp five days before AF..This has change after the miscarriage though...i don't know if it has anything to do with that or not.

Hope this helps =)
