Those with Fatty Liver?

Hello, I know that quite a few cysters have been diagnosed with fatty liver and I was just wondering if those of you who have fatty liver have been told that your liver is enlarged. I went to my ob/gyn Monday for my yearly pap and I had been having pressure on my right side so I asked him to check my liver and he said it is enlarged. So, he takes blood to check liver enzymes and sends me for a liver/gallbladder ultrasound. Yesterday, I find out that my liver enzymes are all normal and the ultrasound tech says my liver is enlarged but the enzymes will paint a truer picture of why the liver is enlarged. Well, obviously they did not. I still have not gotten the official results of the US so I'm not sure what is going on. I am just wondering if it is normal for a simple fatty liver with no high or low enzymes to be enlarged. Does anyone know? Oh, by the way, the explanation that the dr gives me is that "Some people have big hands or feet, you have a big liver. That is just how you are made. I'm not concerned about it." I thought, yeah, well, it's not your liver. That is not an acceptable explanation for me.

Yes, I believe that the liver can be enlarged due to fatty infiltration. I believe mine is slightly enlarged. I just completed some labs to follow up on the fatty liver. I think he did a hepatitis screen, ANA, and mitochondrial something or other. They all came back clear. My enzymes are normal. My gastro is not concerned, but said we should just check everything with some labs annually.

Now, I'm not sure if it's a problem if the liver is very enlarged. They may wind up having to do a biopsy on you depending on what the u/s shows.

Mine is slightly enlarged. They did the battery of blood tests on me & an ultrasound. The ultrasound did show that I also have a small gallstone. The doctor seemed more concerned about the gallstone than the liver enlargement once the tests came back.

hi- i initially went to the doctor because of pain and a lump in my rib cage area. Where I had blood work and an ultrasound done. I was told that I had fatty tissues on my liver. Also known as a fatty liver. I was told that if you have fatty tissue growing that it is considered enlarged. I know mine is enlarged I can feel it. It's big enough to be protruding out of my belly and I can feel it move around. Anyhow, after talking to the dr. about it. I told her of my female problems, and that's where I was diagnosed with PCOS. It's funny how things turn out.

Well, the nurse called and said based on the ultrasound that the only reason my liver is enlarged is because it is fatty. Everything else looks fine. I am starting to see a naturopath who said it is probably inflamed based on what she saw of my enzymes. Anyway, she is going to try to help me with that and some other problems I am having. Thank you all for your replies and support.
