Can you tell the difference in your mood if you miss a dose or 2 of the Lexapro? If so, how can that be if they say they are not addictive, or is it just my system trying to increase the serotonin levels, and if I stop they dramatically drop? It's been about 8 weeks since I been on them, and have felt different, more energized, want to do more activities, but I was busy two days in a row, and went to bed without taking them. Just wanted to know if anyone else felt a difference when they missed. I guess that's why when we are ready to come off of it, we would gradually decrease the dose instead of stopping cold turkey. I will make sure I remember to take them, but it just made me a little nervous as to if this means I will be dependent on them, and not be able to come off when I am able to?

Well, I am currently taking Lexapro 10mg for my anxiety attacks that I get but I have wanted to stop taking it cause I think that and BCP are causing me to gain weight. I tried cutting back on them and sometimes I feel dizzy and light headed so of course that scares me and then I have to remember to take it again. So in my personal opinion I think Lexapro is addicting even though some people say they aren't. Good Luck.

Yes, I notice, although it takes about a week for the paranoia and anxiety to come back. I don't think it's addictive, so much as my mental state going back to the way I was without Lexapro.

hi, i was taking Lexapro for about 40 days, stopped taking it this morning b/c I have developed pancreatitis and gastritis. My doc gave me Wellbutrin SR to start tomorrow. I was doing well on Lexapro, but something happened about a week ago and sent me on a downward spiral, and today for the first time in a very long time, I thought about taking my life, which is mostly due to severe physical chronic pain I am having and nausea that a human being can only take so much of. Hanging on by a wing and a prayer. As far as being off of Lexapro for a while, can't help you much there, but am stopping it, b/c it just isn't even helping me deal along with the physical stuff going on. I wish you the best, hope you feel better.
I was on Lustral. I never noticed after one day - once you have been on it a little while there should be enough in your system to get you through a couple of days without much difference, however after about a week without the anti-depressant I got major withdrawals. I now take one every 4 days or so as I am coming off it.
The cold turkey thing really messed me up.
