Question those little boils....

I have been getting little boils in my pubic region for a few months now. I had to get tested for everything from Yeast to STD infections and my doctor coudnt understand the root cause as all my tests were negative.

I was diagnosed wtih PCOS about a month back and it based on some of my research it looks like these boils are a PCOS symptom. My Gyno removed most of them but I keep getting them once every few days.

What are they and how do i remove them? Can i prevent this growth. I am a little freaked out about this.

Welcome to soul cysters. I feel for you. I used to get those when I played softball from all the sweating. This is what I did to stop them; it might be gross or a hassle but once there gone it is a blessing. I had to shave my pubs away. It will itch so apply some hydrocortisone cream to the outside. Then sprinkle some baby powder to keep everything dry down there. It takes about a month of doing this everyday but they do go away. To keep them from coming back you need to keep the pubs trimmed. I bought one of those bikini micro-touch trimmers and it works great. I hope if you try this that it works for you.

To clarify further, they look like little pimples and are white in color. For some time i dismissed them as ingrown hair issues. The nuisance is that they keep growing back

I keep my pubs clean. I have to as they grow like crazy. I have to shave every day. But I have been very careful and gently avoided the area around those boils. Is shaving them safe? Im a likttle ffreaked out .

They are not only a symptom of pcos but alot of diabetics get them too. I am diabetic and get these always. I have alot right now. They usually get infected and more painful when my sugars are out of whack. Ti keep them at bay I need to make sure my sugars are controlled. Keeping them dry with talc is good. Shaving will actually cause more if that causes you to get ingrown hairs. That is typically how they start.

I shaved right over the ones I used to get. I did not use a regular razor since it can cut the skin off the pimple because it is stretching the skin. I use a micro-touch bikini trimmer. It really helps and is not messy since you dont have to use a cream or shaving gel.

I think your doctor needs to take a sample of the liquid in one if they haven't done so already to see what it is. They should also try a wide ranged antibiotic to see if that helps.

Shaving is bad if you suffer from HS. Its got nothing to do with cleanliness or anything like that. It is linked with insulin resistance and hormonal disorders which I guess explains why PCOS sufferes get it. Antibiotics can help. Humidity and sweating make it worse. There are some really revolting pictures of extreme cases here:-

Be warned, there are man pictures!

I get these as well... my ob says it is linked to IR and PCOS. She said it is very common and gave me a topical antibiotic for it.That clears it up but they do come back. For me they come when I sweat alot or when I am stressed out.

WELCOME CYSTER!!!

Sweetie, I'm sorry you have to go through this, I get those darn things too and I know how nasty they are. But I would have to say that mine are caused like most of the other cysters have said, sweat and heat. The summer is the worst for me, I have to go to great lengths to stay dry to keep from having a mass break out.

I hope you find a solution soon. You might not be able to get rid of them completely, but hopfully you can find a way to manage them.
