I finally figured out how to play the playlists on my IPOD. I made a playlist for the gym tomorrow. It's composed of some old favorites and new songs I CAN'T SEEM TO STOP LISTENING TO! I live a very diverse lot of music, but mostly pop, hip-hop, r & b.
Here's my first playlist!
Maniac (Yeah from Flashdance)
Suga Suga (Baby Bash--my sister got me addicted)
Everybody Dance Now (C & C music factory)
Running (Dying to live) (Tupac)
Baby Boy (Beyonce)
The Way You Move (Outkast)
Borderline (Madonna)
Fame (Irene Cara)
What A Feeling (Flashdance)
It's My Life (No Doubt remake)
Rush Rush (Paula Abdul)
I have NO sense of rythm or tone, so I just picked songs I can lip sync to on the treadmill, I don't want to have my glasses on, so the TV's are to far to see...Though they did have mtv or bet on, so I suppose I could listen to that music--but this is more fun! And when I get bored of it, It is a few clicks to a new playlist! |

As you can imagine, its totally appropriate for working out and has basically every hip-hop tune you've ever heard at a ballgame.
I don't usually buy CD's, but this one was a great investment.

I love "Its My Life" by No Doubt. Gwen Stefani rocks!
I was in an elevator with her and her hot boyfriend (now husband) Gavin Rossdale a couple of years ago. She is so pretty! She was wearing a bikini...I felt like a total cow next to her (lol).

Even though I'm not a 16 year old , I love some of Justin Timberlake's fast songs for my workouts--they're perfect for exercising and really fun. Also, the new OutKast album has some great exercising songs on it. My fiance also has a great CD called "Pulse" that is collection of dance songs, like "Rhythm is a Dancer" ... that album is probably our favorite. You could probably look it up online to get a track listing.
I swear, some days my workouts are twice as energetic just because of good music!

Points: 18,890.81 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 18,890.81 | It was my birthday yesterday, and DH bought me an MP3 Player! Wheee!
Before this, I had a diskman with a strap that i used at the gym - so I'm very excited for the lighter weight equipment.
I listen to dance music when I'm at the gym - it gets me really energized. Stuff like Ian Van Dahl, Orion...anything kinda "clubby".
FlyingTurtle - how do you manage with an IPOD? I thought about getting one, but I heard that there's lots of skipping because there's an actual hard drive. How do you find it? Also, how big is it? |

And now I have a few ideas of what to look for! Here is my playlist for my daily walk-about 60 minutes. I like it 'cause it has warm up and cool down. It is kinda a strange mix I guess, but it works for me!
And hey-I'm 31 and have Brittany on it!
I Wanna Be with You-Mandy Moore
Brandy(You're a fine girl)-Looking Glass
Build me up Buttercup-The Foundations
You Make Me Feel Like Dancing-Leo Sayer
Cruel Summer-Banarama
Island In The Sun-Weezer
ABC-Jackson 5
Overprotected-Brittany Spears
Strong Enough-Cher
Lose Yourself-Eminem
Everybody Got Their Something-Nikki Costa
Sweet Home Alabama-Leonard Skynard
Complicated-Avrile Lavigne
Life in Mono-Mono
I made it in the summertime so there are a couple of "summer" songs, so I may be ready to make another one. So I love the ideas.

I had a jogging cd, but although it was for jogging and I had a jogging pouch, I still had a horrible time with skipping. It bugged the heck out of me. I NEVER have skipping, there is nothing to skip. It is all mp3 and tiny. It has a little velcro pack you can put around your arm which is nice, or it literally fits in the palm of my hand, and I have very small hands. I highly highly recommend one.

I just had to reset it, but the people told me to just not hold it in my hand. At the gym on the treadmill, I I put it up where all the numbers were on it, I had some problems knocking hte headphones out of my ears (but that's cause they are just those earbud ones) otherwise no problems there. I also have some nice velor sweatpants that i got at the GAP that have deep pockets, (and one long skinny one for my epi pen) (allergic to the cold) and two deep side pockets, I usually put it in there and all is fine. I just figured out how to make playlists show up on my ipod though until last night I was just skipping for songs I like to hear. I bought a waist band for my ipod last weekend, so I am going to bust it out tomorrow or sunday when I go. I had to take today off. My cramps are just to driving me nuts, and we got rides home from work instead of taking the bus, so I just went straight home.--we may go out tonight and see a movie or have a drink, but I might just stay in---sorry rambling again.
whoever mentioned pulse---yeah I went on to limewire about a month ago and dowloaded of those tunes what I didn't have already. I wish I had a sense of rythem, cause I SWEAR the type of music doesn't affect my workout at all, as long as I CAN sing along (lip sync at the gym) I don't care much what it is! |

I'm not too jazzed about holding things in my hands when I'm exercising, but the player has a cool neck strap, so it kind of hangs from my neck. Isn't amazing how small it is?
It comes with a little case as well (looks like a lipstick case) with a velcro strap, so I could hook it to my fingers.
I think it's awesome that you set up your playlist to "warm up" and "cool down"!
theflyingturtle - that's cool that you figured out the playlists - there's nothing worse than exercising through a bad song! The IPOD looks really cool - do you have your entire music collection on there? I can't imagine being able to listen to *any* song i wanted. I've heard that people use it to DJ and stuff!
I love listening to all kinds of music, but there's nothing that can get you going better than an upbeat song. |

(well a few more to add) I just checked my Itunes and it says I have 1952 songs. I will check my IPOD and let you know it has all, I think it has most except the few I have to refind and reput in my itunes cause I moved them so the directory changed. I stayed up until 4:30 last night and I have to get to the bridal store to be measured for my cousin'ss bridesmaid dress (which takes me 1.5 hours to get to on the madison metro) so I'll get back to you later |

Works fine--though the RIAA just slapped some more lawsuits so If you are int he USA be careful and use with caution! |

Anyway it's called the INCASE THAT IPOD.....
It has a spot for your keys and ID, it held my keys (2) BUS PASS, ID and a credicard quite nicely, then a place for the ipod and a place to run the headphones through. It was great I got it a tthe apple store in florida. My dad bought it, so I don't rememebr the price, but it was worth it! |

They are:
California Love- Tupac
Bombs Over Baghdad- Outkast
Rosa Parks: Outkast
There are more but I can't think of them right now LOL!
Basically, any fast Outkast song is MADE for moving! I am also a sucker for all of those "dance" songs too!
