Hi

Me again I went back to my gp today, about my pelvic pains, and he said that it might be my ibs. What do you think??

I;m waiting for an appointment at gynae clinic, which my gp is going to chase for me.

blondie, don't take provera! ask for something else without progesterone it can cause ir so if you just got that regulated it might put you back. I got this book from amazon called hormonal balance by scott isaacs . It has alot of good info about pcos bcp's and hormones in general also alot about ir and other things. It s easy to read and very informative. Good luck

hey guys:

I know that you all have went over this already, but I'm kinda worried, and need to talk. I've been AF for two weeks now, and everday it seems to be getting heavier. I've been to my gyn, just five months ago, because my AF didn't seem to want to stop. He prescribed numerous different bcp, but they had no real effect on me; my AF went on for four months, and then stopped on it's own. I was without AF, from April, to basically a week and a half ago. So now I'm back to the never ending AF, maybe. The nurse who always call in lieu of my gyn, says that I'm doing fine, and it will probably stop on it's own, but seeing as I JUST WENT THROUGH IT a couple of months ago, I've already noted the tell tale markings of an AF that's settling in for the long haul. I'm sorry this is so long, but let me cut to the chase here. Is there anything that my gyn can do other than giving me bcp? I't already been asertained that that doesn't work with me. And is this kind of feast or famine AF normal? I'm really kind of worried. I'm suddenly so tired all the time. I slept almost the entire day today, and yet now, I can hardly keep m yeyes open.

Thanks to everybody out there, just knowing you're all out there makes me feel not so alone.

livi.

Hi Livi,

So sorry you are going through this! You said you gyn has given you different kinds of bcp's to help. Although I cannot take bcp's, when I've had prolonged bleeding, my doctor gave me progesterone and that helped. He said it was like a chemical d&c.

I suggest you ask for some bloodwork to check your red blood cell count. I suspect you have become anemic. By the time my anemia was diagnosed, I had lost a third of my red blood cells. I have been on prescription iron supplement since March, along with folic acid and b vitamins, and my doctor said it can take 6 months to a year to build my iron stores back up.

I also read in "PCOS a woman's guide to dealing with PCOS" that the pelvic pain may be related to the effect of hormones on the blood flow through the veins within the pelvis.

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site too, but just being able to see that there are others out there has made me feel better.

I have gone through this battle for 8 years now. I was dx with PCOS when I was 18, and I'm now with a 3rd Dr. I told him that I had pelvic pain so bad some days I couldn't stand it, and he was the first one to listen. Last Friday, I had my first Lap. done and the pain was not just me thinking I hurt, but I was Dx. with Endo now too.

I know I didn't have too much to say about the subject, but I did want to say this...
If you know something is wrong, don't wait for them to jerk you around and play guessing games, find another Dr. that will take you seriously and listen to different options.

Yeah I am thinking I am defin. going to have a second Oppion about my cramps...cause this dr. said my weight causes my cramps which is a bunch of BS...and even if we found out I had endo we would try a lupron inject. or BC....ERR but I would rather KNOW...I mean can cycsts poly cysts cause BAD pelvic pain?? tha would make more sense to me........I got back to her on monday to find out if I "ovulated" last month.....If i didnt...then my ovaries are TRYING to cause I get slight crampy mid cycle like yesterday I felt that way and counted and BAM about day 12-13...and took a test to see if i had LH surge and I did.....SO...if I didnt ovulate then my poor poly cystic. ovaries sure are trying hard to. This month though my cramps were AWFUL....started a Week before my period and made me actually thro up one night cause i woke up having pelvic pain and felt pressure like needed to use the bathroom....AHH I am so confused.

No big deal, huh? That's what I was told when I had an ovarian cyst. I was put on BCP and was told that it would take care of the problem. Yeah, right! About 6 months later I had to have a lap done because I couldn't take the pain anymore! The d*mned thing grew larger than my ovary and knocked the breath out of me everytime I moved!

Doctors stink!

Well---my last appt. was May 30th--or end of May-- I brought up again---I HAVE BAD BAD BAD Pelivc cramps---bla bla bla she said well it sounds like IBS you should talk to your PCM about that!! ERR----I didnt ovulate by the way according to the blood work--and she put me on Yasmin---I am just now getting the courage sorta up--to go to my PCP next week(hopefully) to talk to him about that and a second oppion to change GYNOS all together--according to my Insurance-Tricare he would have to put infor me to have another referral....so hopefully I will stop being put off and have a lapros. to rule out the cause for my bad bad pain---I am just so discourage cause i have not had good luck with my 2 Gynos in my life when I tell them I HAVE pain!! they say its normal, or its cause you are over weight, or even if we found out you had endo we would do BCP or lupron--WTF kind of answers is that---IT cant be normal and even if it is---do further testing seeing as how I have a birth defect of the reproductive system anyways--bicournate uterus---I am just so frustrated and just ahhhh-----I guess if i see another gyno and he says the same as other two--about the pain then--maybe i should just try and deal with it---but I just dont know--hopefully my PCP can help me out and tell me what he thinks or something.....ahhhhh

RK
OH update no reason for me to try and conceive cause my dh is being deployed to Iraq for 12-18 months--*from Korea* it really sucks but I guess will give me time to try and get straightened out.

I would ask her if the bleeding is heavy or simply "spotting", and make a DR's appointment anyway. If nothing else, so that her DR can explain to her what she can expect, and what she can do about it.

Keep us posted, and be strong dad, it's just the beginning!!
