Default For those with Real BAD Pelvic pain???

Have yall had Laporscopys??? to rule out endo--ect--cause I finally got around to going to my primary care phy. office to get a second oppion or diff dr referral put in since this other dr--has done nothing for me--adn I have been in Surve pain the past 6 months--not to mention have had really bad bad cramps for the past few years anyways---and the NP was asking me a bunch a ?s about my cramps ect ect and asked has anyone ever done a Lap on you?? I was like no mama...she was suprised...seeing as how I have had pelvic pain thats pretty much unbearable for so long---so she put in the referral and I am just waiting---i really want this done So I can get some answers---cause my perscrip pain meds just are not cutting it anymore--- And I was just wondering those of you with bad bad monthly paind*cause I have regular cycles* and oh this BC isent helping my cramps--at all---but anyways I was just wondering the ones in alot of pain--did you have a lap or ones that have been diagnosed with Endo---how all that went.......

I am just glad I dont have to go back to that dr....I pretty much have found out that it wasent just me--that they dont referr NONE of their patients to her(I pretty much got bad vibes about her from them)---I just pray this new gyno that he will want to find out whats going on as much as I have been.
I FIRED MY OLD DR> lol actually I have to call probly tommorrow and cancel my Aug 30th appt hehe

Well I had a Lap years ago. I had pain all the time and sometimes they would bring me to my knees and I would be doubled over for a few minutes. Ouch! I didn't have normal cycles though, at that point I got AF every 3 months or 4 months (over time it has gotten less and less though), but back then (I was still in highschool) they were pretty much 3 to 4 months. Anyway, I started seeing dr after dr when i was 15 and I could never get anywhere, none could figure out what was wrong w/me, and finally I started seeing a very good gyno when I was 17 or 18 and kept going back to him w/the same pains, he did all kinds of tests and could never figure out anything and nothing ever showed up on ultrasounds or anything, so he scheduled me for a lap, and he found adhesions around my uterus, ovaries and bowels, he said that it was not endo but that it was probably from a cyst that popped. I asked how I could have had a cyst and he said it was probably from stress...I knew nothing of pcos then, and obviously he didn't either, he was a great gyno, but looking back, had he known I would have known much sooner. It took me until last month and LOTS of my own research to find a Dr that would listen and know what I was talking about and diagnose me (about 12 years) Anyway, after having the adhesions removed I didn't have such severe pain anymore, I did get a little still though but he said that I probably would because he couldn't remove some of it from my bowels w/out regular surgery and that if the pain got I would need to have the surgery, and I said NO WAY! The pain was reduced enough though that I never even thought about having the surgery. I get a little more pain now days again, but not quite as bad as I used to...so long story short, yes I had a lap to rule out endo and had scar tissue removed and it did help. Maybe this is your problem and it will give you some relief. Best wishes!

Been there done it!!

If you are on BCP and you are in such pain, you need to STOP the bcp NOW!!

If you have endometreosis, the pill will make your life hell!!

Estrogen feeds the endo.
Progestin feeds andeomyosis(sp?)

So if you have one or both you are only doing more harm than good.
I found all this the hard way.

If you stop the pill you should see relief with in a week or less.

BTW? Are your periods horendous?

With me I had the pain 24/7. Then when AF came, Percet didn't touch the pain.

Another factor to consider is arthritis in your back. With this your AF can be worse than normal as well.

One site to check out for more detailed subjects for LAP surgery is hystersisters.com

They have lots of gals that can walk you through it all!!

Heal time for a LAP is about 2 weeks tops.
Those with sit down jobs usually go back after 4-5 days.

Let me know if you need more info.

I don't know if this will work for everybody but it sure works for me. I was just like RamblinRose...body-bending pain. When it got really bad it would go from my waist down my legs. Then I heard that TUMS did a study where they found that calcium reduces the effects of PMS. I had the pain all the time, about 20-25 days out of the month, and AF every 2-4 months. I started taking the calcium and within 2 months the pain was gone. If I stop taking it, the pain comes back in less than two weeks. It's so unbelievable that sometimes I stop taking it just to make sure that it's the calcium that makes the pain go away. I have many cysts (according to DR in '94, 30-40 per ovary). The pain really affected my life, I couldn't walk for too long or go shopping and it even hurt during intercourse. You should try it and besides even if it doesn't reduce the pain, it's still good for your body.

nccountrybumpkin, I sent you a PM.
Though not enough room for detail, sorry.

I highly suggest you read different articles on each subject to get a round amount of info.

PCOS women tend to be Estrogen dominent.
Yasmin was a frequent suggested BCP because it has low amounts of ingrediants. Like any med, it works great for some. But there will always be a few it works badly for.

So if you are having a reaction, I say stop it and see how things go.

For me PERSONALLY, I just tried to start HRT(hormone replacement therapy) again after a year off due to some symptoms I am having.
I have discovered that the side effects of the HRT is worse than why I am taking it. So I stopped it again.

What many people fail to see is BCP and HRT are virtually the same product.Just packaged differently.

You may want to look at "why" you are even taking the BCP.
Make a list of symptoms your trying to control.
Then ask yourself if it really is helping or are you having issues like never before.(Sounds like your case)

Taking calcium, mag and potasium are great AF relievers.
But for those with Endo&Adneo,it won't cut it. Another monthly pain factor to consider is back issues. If you have arthritis or other issues in your spine, it will effect your AF as well.
So look back on any times that could have caused back injuries.

Remember to use your words carefully with the doctor.
Put it to them as if these suggestions are from your "other" doctor who suggested you see this new doctor for "help".
That new doctor may be more willing to listen and give you the LAP you need so much.
I wish I could go with you. I would make sure you got the treatment you needed.

Please keep in contact with me. I'll answer any more questions you have.

Patty

Default ENDOMETRIOSIS

Well I have that---and I am glad to finally have a Dr that Knows what the hell he is talking about---I played stupid like I didnt know what i already know--just told him my symptsoms and how long--he sadi well i am going ot do a plevic exam and check for infection-swab--that came back fine--and i guess he felt what ever cause he said you have Endometriosis---he said before all that--that you think you have PCOS--and i wa slike well thats what i was told--he said you have follicles cysts which is normal--and a birht defect---and Endomtriosis.......he rocks---I finally found a dr that cares--a GYNO i mean--- usually they would do BCP and like meds like naproxon soidum but since i have been there DONE that for the past well many years---3 years on BCP and past 2 on naproxon--I will have the HSG(dye into everything xray pics) and probly the lap pretty fast.......he said that the birth defect actually puts me at higher risk for endo--which i knew that from my research--PCOS book actually said that-....So on the 30th i have my HSG to see how bad it may be--to see how my tubes are ect----i would have had it next week but its my blank BCPs---ANd since i have spoted the entire month on Yasmin(2nd month) he said just finish this pack off and dont take no more......So---we will know more on the 30th God I hope i am not spotting that day so they can do it---he was honest and said that if he feels that he cant do it he will let me know--the lap surg...if its real bad he will have to refer me to a reproductive something maybe serugion---but we will see--HE is a serugon at a Surgical clinic--so that sorta freaked me out---but we will see--its just a relief to Finally KNOW why I have all this pain---I think all this will happen pretty fast if he can do it---from what he said-- I am very pleased!!
