If you make your group by invite only, everyone in or out of the group can still see your posts and photos. The difference is cysters cannot join, post or add photos without getting an invite from the group owner.

Once you set up a social group, you can post messages and add photos. A great feature is that you can edit your comments/messages at any time.

Once a group is set up, the owner of a social group can edit the group description, the status (public or private group) and enable or disable messages and the photo album option. The owner cannot delete or edit other people's messages or photos, but as all members of the group, they can report abuse in any post. I think you can also boot members from your group if you are the owner, but I'm not sure.

Kat has changed the settings, so private groups can make messages and albums invisible to non-members.

Thanks, Jash. I discovered the social groups a few weeks ago and am really enjoying them. I belong to two and started one for book lovers. I wish more people would start groups, especially those who belong to due date groups. No offense to anyone, but I hate having to scroll through all those threads. There are so many of them. And the good thing about a social group is that you don't have to close it once it reaches 200 posts and start another one like you do a thread.
