For those taking Diane + Met - Do you use additional forms of birth control?
I'm curious because I'm currently on both, and terrified of getting pregnant again. The first time I took Met it regulated me in a matter of days, before I even built up to the full dose (1500 mg at the time). I conceived within 5 months.
Obviously this time around I'm on the pill too, so I'm trying to avoid pregnancy. But I'm afraid that the Met will 'overpower' the pill somehow and I'll wind up pregnant. Am I just being paranoid?

I have no first-hand experience but thought I'd tell you what my gyno said at my last appointment. I am currently taking BCP (Cyclen, if it matters) and she was considering putting me on Met, too. She said that if I was on Met, she would insist on a second form of BCP for me, as well. She said that for we lucky PCOSers, Met can often work "too" well, very quickly.
I'd have to say better safe than sorry. How fun, eh?

Agreed-- my body decided to have it's own cycle completely different from the BCP one- for us pregnancy is not an issue, if it happens, well it happens- but I had to change around when my BCP is done.

PCOS or no PCOS, I will always use condoms with BCP. I live in fear that either one will fail me and I'll end up pregnant!
