Default For those who have been diagnosed, what is the next step in your opinion??

For those of you who have been diagnosed already, what do you think the next step is?? I FINALLY made an appointment with an RE for August 9th. The receptionist said she is going to send me paperwork in the mail to fill out and bring in. I havent had any levels checked and I am going for an internal sonogram next Wednesday. From your experiences, will they do blood work to see if I have pcos and then start me on meds?? I havent gotten my period in 6 months and we want to start ttc. Will blood work be the only next step or are there other tests that you had done? Do you think they will give me something right away to start ttc if it is pcos??? I am so lost! Thanks!

take a deep breathe and realize your about to get on a rollercoaster ride.......

Usually they want to start getting levels under some sort of control. If your over weight, some drs may want to you start getting that down. Most the time they will put you on metformin or glucophage (sp?) to help with diabetes, and the syndrome of pcos........sometimes that does help women to get their periods and actually get pregnant.

For me i was just diagnosed just over 12 hours ago.....It's honestly one of the happiest moemnts of my life right now. It's been a long road to finally get diagnosed. For me my next move is to keep bring my weight down and taking my medications, and hopefully start getting a period.

Just remember not to let your self get overwhemled thought i know how hard that is. Get informed, as much as possible.
