Unhappy ? for those who m/c naturally

Beta went from 125 Friday to 195 Monday to 67 last night. What should I expect now? OB wants me to try and do it on my own and only wants to do a D&C if my body won't expel it. Does it feel like the same severe cramping in lower abdomen and lower back ache that I'm having off and on? Will I know when it passes? What do I do with it? I can't imagine just flushing it? Sorry for all the questions but thanks for any info...

Ohh my..... You have the same fears I did... I had my m/c naturally. I didnt even know it was coming though. I had some some cramps before the bleeding started but really what happened first was the bleeding then the cramps and boy were they horrible. Then I started passing alot of clots. I was headed to the ER by this time and I passed the remaining clots there. I also was freaking out about what to do with the clots b/c I knew what was going to be in there and just flushing or putting it the trash seemed so horrible to me but thats what happened. I was beside myself during all of this and all I really remember is the painful cramps and the large clots and alot of blood. I would go to the ER when you start to bleed b/c you will need to make sure you get fluid and your blood levels are ok and you dont get low iron or anything. I wish I could give you some great advice but all I can say so do what your hearts tells you to do. If you want a D&C request one if not then do it naturally. If you feel like screaming well scream so on. I really wish you alot of peace with this! If I can be of any help please let me know. Also if your bleeding doesnt slow or your still are having painful cramps after a day or two then you will need to go to the ER. I had some real painful cramps 3 days later and I had some remaining clots that needed to be removed. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this!! (((HUGS)))

I am going through the same thing you are now... just waiting for it to happen. my DR also prefers that it happen naturally, but in addition to a D&C there is also a drug you can take to induce the m/c, was told it takes only a few hours after you take it. My DR said everyone is different and If you are not to far along (no fetal pole, heartbeat yet) it may not be as bad. She told me to call her if i have any uncontrolled bleeding. She also said once your HCG level is back to 0 that should indicate that everything has been expelled. When my level was taken a few days ago it was 30,000, so i'm not sure if that means i still have a while to wait... so sorry this is happening to you.

I think you will be able to m/c with no problem. you will proably start spotting and you will have a heavy and possibly painful AF.

With mine, my numbers got much higher and the first thing I had was some spotting. I had some very severe af cramps. there were so bad that they woke me in the middle of the night or i was not able to go to sleep without sleep aids. I have to admit it was a horrible experience. my m/c took 3 months for my numbers to get back down to zero. i probably should have had a d&c, but i was determined to do it naturally.

Im so sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the support ladies. DH tries to be supportive but he doesn't seem to be taking the news too hard. I'm sure he's dealing in his own way but it would help if he would openly express it, i know, it's a man thing.

They don't have any idea how far along I was. By the time I saw the dr, it was because I was in pain. When I was at the ER on Friday they did an U/S and saw a 7mm sac with fetal pole, no heartbeat but in the same breath said that my numbers were so low they don't know how they saw that.

My OB called a bit ago and said that he didn't need to see me again and to take a pg test not this weekend but the next weekend. If it was negative then everything was expelled and if not then I am to come see him. He also said that I should just have some light spotting into next week possibly and then that should be it.

The ER dr told me that I would have more severe cramping, backache, bleeding and such. He said I should pass the "products of conception" as he called it, in 4-5 days. I think if I have to go back to the ER, I'm going to let them do the D&C, I just want it all over with.

I'm at such a loss...I never thought this would happen to me, kwim? I suppose the same is true for all of us. I'm so sorry that any of us have to be here.

With your numbers so low, I agree you will probably be able to do it naturally. I did with all of mine. Each time, it was like a slightly long, really heavy period with cramps. It will start as your numbers approach zero, and then get heavier after they get to zero.

I'm so sorry for your loss

{{{{HUGS}}}} I'm so sorry for your loss

I personally wouldn't go to the ER. I've been through 3 natural m/c's and never once went to the ER. Some women do but I just didn't feel comfortable going.

You're also so early that you mostlikely won't need a D&C. The only time I ever needed a D&C was my 2nd loss when I was carrying quads & had been bleeding for 5 weeks straight until an u/s determined that the h/b's had stopped 2 weeks prior. And when I had my D&C, I spotted for 3 months straight, w/ my other natural m/c's I was done spotting w/in the month afterwards. I know that every woman is different but from what I've heard the D&C is just harder on your body and you can still bleed afterwards. Not only that but it scraps your entire lining away so it could be a while before AF or before you can TTC again (probably not thinking about that right now but just letter you know), we had to wait 3 full cycles after my #'s were @ 0.

And DH's just don't understand...believe me, I've been through this 4 times and during those times we had to worst fights ever b/c I thought he didn't care and he didn't understand. I realize now that he did care and he was trying to understand. He's a man though, he didn't have it happening to his body but he did care b/c these were his babies too. I saw him cry for the first time in his life @ the u/s to determine our twins (2 had passed away previously) had passed away 2 weeks prior. I saw him cry again at our last u/s this last pg'cy b/c we were so sure everything was ok & then the wind was just taken out of us when the u/s showed differently. So now I know that he did care, he just didn't know what to say like everyone else that I know IRL.

You'll just have a very heavy AF. I've had m/c's all the way from 4 weeks to 9 weeks (one was ectopic) and I've (and everyone that I've talked to) has had a heavier AF than usual w/ lots of clots.

{{{{HUGS}}}}
Please let me know if you ever need to talk,
Traci

My Dr also advised me to take Ibuprofen as it somehow inhibits progesterone function/production and this may help speed things along.

Question for you ladies... How long does the bleeding last once the m/c is over? Its been 6 days and I'm still bleeding. I'm not surprised I'm just trying to look for a timeframe when it will stop.

Jess - I bled on & off for almost 2 weeks, and I was 6 weeks when I m/c.

Trish - I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope it helps to know you are not alone.

My hcg's didn't drop to 0 until mid-June (I m/c April 17) because I was diagnosed with an ectopic pg with some tissue remaining. I'm still waiting for my af to show up!
