Default For those of you that take Met with Breakfast...

I'm starting Met tommorow, and I was wondering (those of you that take Met with Breakfast) what you usually eat for breakfast? Thanks a ton

I take a dose in the morning right after breakfast. I eat 2 kashi original waffles (plain), 2 slices of ham - pan "fried" w/no oil, & a banana

Default Carbs!

I was so ill last week when I started taking met. It is so hard on the stomach that I found it is best to take it with a carb. Any carb, just something of substance to fill up on first.. good luck!

I eat a high fiber cereal on most mornings and fruit, but I wait until I get to work to take my MET just in case I have to go to the bathroom. Sorry TMI? I'm terrified of getting sick in traffic.

Good luck!

I take my first one of the day with breakfast and I take it in the middle of my meal. I eat a bowl of oatmeal or oatmeal cereal and sometimes a piece of fruit and chocolate soy milk.

Most of the time I have oatmeal for breakfast. I take the Met in the middle of the meal.

I'm not a breakfast person but since I have to take my Met, I usually take it with cereal. I goes down smoothly, however, I am lactose intolerant...I have issues!!!

I usually take it half way through a breakfast burrito. (my burrito usually contains eggs, salsa, cheese and avocado).

A couple times a week I get breakfast at starbucks and then I eat it half way through a blueberry scone.

I find I'm fine as long as I take it in the middle of my meals. If I wait until I'm done I end up feeling like I'm going to vomit. If I take if first...well you know.

I had my first dose this morning after a few bites of my breakfast (a serving of high protein special K cereal and a banana), and so far no symptoms at all! I also took a Vitamin B complex this morning, because I've heard that's supposed to help.

I'm probably counting my eggs before they hatch though...lol.

I take my with at least a bowl of cereal sometimes fruit. I have discovered that a breakfast bar is not enough. If I don't eat enough I start to feel bad before it's time for lunch. I find I have to keep something in my stomach at all times to avoid side effects.

I tried to take mine with breakfast, but I'd start getting really really nauseous around 5pm, just as I needed to leave work. I thought, hey maybe my Met is wearing off or something (could be totally wrong, it was just my line of thinking), so I moved my morning dose back to 11am. I had no more side effects after that.

I'm not really Met-sensitive (although I was nauseous anytime I was vaguely hungry the first two weeks, ugh), but my morning breakfast is a pre-mixed bottle of Slimfast no-sugar-added choc. drink and a individual cup of Activia yogurt.

I don't know if the Activia works on Met tummy-angst, but I've had chronic diarrhea (two weeks ago, it was almost DAILY) for the last 4-5 years. I finally got up the courage to talk to a gastro doc about it, and he recommended Activia. I started eating a cup every morning about 6 days ago, and I have not had ONE problem since. It's unbelievable, it's like I have a normal life again! I do wonder if it would work for the Met issue, too?

I take my met right before breakfast. I typically eat a light multigrain english muffin with simply fruit jelly (really good) or peanut butter. Sometimes I'll have 2 eggs and a piece of whole wheat toast.

for me the i dont have the side effects the bathroom trips if i dont take it with food, i knwo its says too but i dunno that doesnt work for me i have found that met and coffee are a bad combo and if i dont drink my coffee then i am fine. and my second pill i usually take right before i sleep cause i always forget, lol no other reason. but the first week or so was bad but now im ok, no problems unless i do the coffee thing which gives me issues by itself so, not if the met just makes it worse or not. but i have noticed that i am a lot more tired and sleeping more since i started taking it. also my period is going longer this cycle, which is weird but its only my frist month on the met so i am sure it will regulate itself in time. good luck and dont give up, my mom and sister are on met and my sister is on 2000 a day and it doesnt bother her anymore but her first few weeks was a bathroom hell and we were in disney world.
